Days Off During the College Program -- Specifically Weekends?

Hi!

So I'm currently looking at trying to do the college program next fall. My only hesitation is that I'm applying for medical school in the spring, and interviews would take place in the fall. They'd take place on Saturday/Sunday usually, meaning I'd have to have three days off for travel, either Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday.

I've read you get two days off a week, but usually not Sat-Sun. If this was only a one time occurrence I wouldn't be worried. But (fingers crossed) I could be looking at having to take anywhere from five to ten traditional weekends.

Would this be a big issue?

Also -- I know it'd be three days but technically Sunday starts a new week right? So it'd really only be two from one week and one from the next?

Thanks!

Unfortunately you do not get to chose when your days off will be. You didn't hear this from me, but you can sign up for classes on Sat and Sun and then drop the classes. They will let your work location know that you are taking classes on those days and you will not be scheduled.

You can also request days off as long as you know about it ahead of time - I took a couple weekends off (one for my Niece's birthday and the other for a wedding) - both were approved with no issues

You can also ask to trade shifts or just plain give them away to other people in your work location. Depending on the amount of cast members, this is easier in some places than others, but I just did that myself last week! Another girl I worked with was able to give away enough shifts to spend a full 5 days with her family. (Meant her paycheck was tiny after rent, but that's to be expected)
