Just wondering what day of the week you had your ceremony? I was thinking of doing a Monday or Thursday wedding to keep costs down. Do you think guests would like a day at the beginning of the week or later?

I am getting married on Monday so our guests have all weekend to fly down and hopefully inspire them to take a mini vaca. We also did this to spend time with our family, who is flying down 5 days before the wedding with DF and I, instead of after our wedding on our honeymoon.

I am getting married on Monday. Guests are flying or driving in on Saturday and Sunday. I wanted to get married earlier in the week so I had more honeymoon time!

We were married on a Thursday so guests could come down the day before or the day of the wedding and stay through the weekend (only a couple did that but we only had 8 guests!).

Bonus - our anniversary was on a weekend for the first couple of years, until the darn Leap Year made it a Monday ;)

We are Thursday, but that is really not for any reason except that the 25th is our 7 year dating anniversary and it happens to fall on a Thursday.
As a guest, i would prefer a later day though, so after the wedding, you get to have a few days vacation before going home. Fly in Wednesday after work, Thursday is wedding, so Friday and the weekend is just for fun.

Ours is on a Friday (June 26, 2009) but that's only because we wanted that particular date and it happened to fall on a Friday. Many of our guests are making an extended weekend out of...flying in on Thursday and staying until Sunday. HTH!

We wanted our wedding later in the week, but the 3 Night Cruise leaves on Thursdays, 4 night leaves on Sundays.

We thought if we did the 4 night, we might as well take another week off and didn't want to use all of our vacation time. So we chose the 3 night.

Our wedding day is Monday, so our guests who chose to only come to the wedding, can travel during the weekend and go right home, so they don't have to take that many days off. I really doubt anyone will do that but considered it.

Having the wedding on the Monday meant we had the weekend for pre-wedding stuff, and then 2 days afterwards with our guests and then the cruise will be our alone time.

I'm hoping I worked it out right:thumbsup2

Monday - for all the reasons listed above, plus it meant people could get cheaper flights by flying Saturday-Tuesday. :thumbsup2

We are doing thursday as well. No one complained to me at all. everone was so excited about getting to go to Disney.

We are getting married on a Monday so all my guests are flying down on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We are travelling over for 3 weeks with all our 28 guests so we have decided to have our wedding on a wednesday, this is keeping costs lower and really makes no difference as we are all on holiday anyway. We will be there for 11 days before and 10 days after.

Linz xxx :)

We are getting married on a Wednesday actually!! Not only are the costs down but honestly the only reason we chose it was because of the date! Our guests are making a vacation out of it!

Ours is on Thursday because a bunch of our guests requested it. They wanted to take the long weekend to have some time in the parks when it wasn't too crowded. In the end, though, about half of our guests are staying from Saturday to Saturday, so it didn't make much difference. Saved us a TON of money, though...

We chose a wednesday in May..it was May 7th which was our 8 year anniversary. Worked out perfect :)

Our 11 year anniversary is on a Sunday, so we'll get married by my pastor here on that day, then our Disney wedding is the following Friday.

We chose Friday because we (and most of our family & friends) live in Florida, so they'll only have to take Friday off of work to come to Disney, then they can spend the weekend there if they wish. For the out of state people, they will have to take off Thursday and Friday from work, then head home on Saturday.
