Anyone ever stay here?? It is on 192 near Old Town. However, it's not the Day's Inn right next to Old Town. This is like 3 doors down. I know there is the Day's Inn Suites, then the Day's Inn, then this hotel.
I can get a 1 bedroom suite (w/ an actual bedroom) for $53/nt through a corporate discount. Thinking of booking that.

DON'T DO IT! I just stayed there last March, and it was a really horrible place to stay. It honestly takes a lot for me to say that about a hotel...I'm not a fancy girl, or even a three star hotel girl! Give me your everyday Holiday Inn and I'm in heaven!

I first stayed at Days Suites Maingate (by Oldtown, correct?) several years ago...I'm guessing 1997 or 1998. I was rather young (12-14 years old) and I remember it being fine. Tons of space, a little dated, but fine.

March, however, was a different story. We booked it because it was the cheapest thing we could get for that much space. The room was not very clean, and all the bedding was SO OLD! It seemed like every comforter and sheet had a hole or stain on it...yuck. I felt really yucky going to sleep in that bed every night...and that's not a good feeling to have on vacation. Also, while this might be a unique situation, there were many unruly guests there (we called them the loud angry cubans!) who hung arround the corridors yelling and screaming at all hours of the night. My boyfriend slept in the living room (right off main door) and he said it was quite frightening.

After our stay, we all agreed that it would have been better just to stay at a "regular" hotel room that at least would have been clean and a little quieter. We are going in January and are staying at Buena Vista Suites for $89 a night.

If your options are staying at the Days Suites for that price, or not going at all, I would say go and just bear it (we survived!). But...if you are at all flexible in your price (or really don't need 3 beds) I would look elsewhere.

Good Luck (and sorry to be the bearer of bad news!)

Have never stayed there, however I know some friends who die about 3 years ago and they said it was no frills/budget hotel - to be honest they said they would not stay there again.

There have been a lot of bad reviews about that motel on these boards over the years.

What is your top price and bedding requirements? Maybe we can help you find something equivalent that would be better.

When I first started going to Disney World (about 30 years ago), we stayed in the Days Lodge (now Days Suites). At that time it was fine. Since then I've returned to the Days Suites maybe 4 or 5 times, the most recent being 6 years ago. It has run down considerably of course. Though I don't remember it being filthy, it is old and worn. If you get a room backing up to Old Town it is loud. The front desk always had lines that you had to wait in for anything (our room keys wouldn't work on many occasions so we had to wait in that frustrating line). You have to pay to rent kitchen utensils and pots and pans. On the positive side, the location is not bad, there are plenty of restaurants around and the murphy bed in the living area is much more comfortable than a sofa bed. But since I have discovered rental condo's and skyauction there is no need stay there any more. Last January I rented a 3 bedroom condo from an owner on VRBO for $399/week. We didn't even need 3 bedrooms but the place was wonderful.

We had ressies there years ago, like in 1991, arrived, tired after a 2 day drive....The pics we had seen looked fine but after turning down 4 rooms we left and went to the Holiday Inn Maingate E. The Days Inn was filthy....one room they sent us to was occupied, one smelled of wet carpet and dog, another had beds that sagged visably and smelled, and the last was just plain dirty. We had to argue to get our deposit back but they finally relented.
I guess some things never change.

This hotel is off the list. Everytime I think things are settled turns out we're having issues w/ the villa we rented. I am really just looking for another option for our next trip. Since it's so close to the holiday's. I really want a budget conscience alternative.
For some reason I initially thought this place was the Quality Suites from the exterior photo's. That place always seemed decent enough. However, I realize I was mistaken.

What about La Quinta or even Baymont Inn? I stayed at the Baymont in Kissimmee, and I thought it was a comfortable stay. If you type in LMD as the promo rate, it comes up around $53 or so. The Baymont had a nice breakfast with make-your-own waffles, also 2 queen beds, free internet, and a micro-fridge. As far as a 1 BR suite, try the Country Inn and Suites. I think they have some good last minute rates for around $69 (LBV location).

I stayed there last march and wasn't so bad. The one right next to old town was REALLY bad looking. Its not the best. We heard reviews of bugs, but had no problems. Nice pools, and felt pretty safe. Great location. Cross the street for wendy's and close to WDW. I would stay there again if I drive to WDW next august the night before we check in at Boardwalk villas.

Hi I dont know if this is the same Days Inn, but here are some cheap hotels I found. We are planing for a trip in 2006 and want to do Universal and Sea World, so we have been looking for cheap hotels off site. We plan on then staying at the wilderness lodge for our Disney World part of the trip.

Days Inn at Maingate of Universal Orlando $49.00 a night

RED HORSE INN 5825 Orlando, FL 32819 US $59.00 a night

MASTERS INN ON INTERNATIONAL DRIVE $55.00 a night

TRAVELODGE ORL INTL DRIVE/UNIVERSAL STUDIOS $49.00

In general, I would stay away from Days Inns. Ive stayed at a few of there properties and hated all but one (Virginia Beach, VA was a nice one). If you keep looking, you will find much better options for around the same price. Like another said, look into LaQuinta and Baymont. Both are budget chains and have decent properties...

I wish I could remember exactly where we stayed when I went with my mom.. I know it was a Days Inn and it was near Old Town, but it might not be the exact one you are talking about.
I know there were suites, but I can't recall if our room was a suite.
Anyway.. I just thought it was a little run-down until I looked at the bedding and it was gross! I asked them to come change it and they were just a pain about the whole thing.. then the bedding that they put on it actually appeared to be worse than the original! There were some odd stains on the sheets that just left me very uneasy.
I told my DH that next time the whole family goes, we're not taking any chances! We'll pay a little more and stay at one of the all-stars or something.

We stayed at the Days Suites a few years ago despite all the negative reviews and we thought it was just fine. It was old and worn but it was also only $39/nite so we didn't expect too much. I think some of the negative reviews are overdone.

That said, however, we won't ever stay there again, especially since we learned about SkyAuction. Now, for $260/week, we can rent a beautiful 2-bed, 2-bath condo that is far nicer than the Days Suites. Even if you aren't staying for a full week, it may be worth booking one and just checking out early. The per night average would still be great.
