Days Inn Mainegate Kissimmee Good/Bad??

HELP???
Has anyone stayed at the Days Inn Mainegate Kissimmee on 5840 Irlo Bronson Highway??? this one hase the Safari Cafe attached.
There are 2 Days inn on the highway, 4104 and 5840 Irlo Bronson Highway. I just reserved 5840 Irlo Bronson Highway for Oct 07.

Any info would be helpful.

I stayed there with my youngest daughter who was 5 at the time, two years ago. I found the place dirty and rundown, there were bugs in the room, particularly in the bathroom crevices, the beds were lumpy, the ac didn't work well and was very noisy, room was musty smelling, and I found the staff pretty rude at the time. The buffet breakfast we tried once and never went back, it was awful, thankfully there is a Ponderosa just a little way up the street that you can get a very inexpensive buffet breakfast from that we really enjoyed.

On the plus side, the pool is nice, the tiki bar they were very pleasant at and you get a free drink coupon to use there and the hotel is right near Old Town which my girls love.

Last year I took my 6 and 15 year old daughters and we stayed at Seralago Suites just a little way up the same road. If you get the front building and a kids suite I would highly recommend them.

This year we are trying Hampton Inn/Lake Buena Vista, got it through priceline for $36 a night by looking for a 2 and a half star hotel in disney area.

I stayed there many years ago(around 1994) and it was fine went back with my kids in 2000 and it was skeevy. The cockroaches should have had to pay some of the rate that we paid. We left and went to stay with relatives in Tampa since it was spring break and couldn't find another room.

First, I'm going to move this to the main board for you. Secondly, I'd do a search- there is usually some long threads on this place. It seems to be one of the most controversial on the boards as to if it's "safe" or "clean".

Bottom line, we've stayed and we never found it to be 5 star- but we never saw a bug, never dirty either. We actually found our room to be a very basic, but modern room w/ no frills. Should be considering the first stay we had we only paid $19.99/nt- this was just a few months after 9/11 when tourism was waaaay down.

Anyhow, I'd really do the search- you'll find lots of info.

I have heard that none of the Days Inn's in Florida are the greatest...

There isn't a single Days Inn in this area that you would want to stay at. Every one of them gets far more complaints than praise. The complaints range from dirty to unsafe.
