Days Hotel Maingate. -Anyone been there?

Looking at staying here on a solo trip to watch DD play volleyball. She's with team and I'm on my own. I have read very mixed and conflicting things about the place. Some may have it confused with another place. The place I am looking at is on Black Lake Rd and I think was a Holiday Inn at one time.

Anyone know much about this place?
Is it decent and in a decent neighborhood?
Easy access to DW and to the Convention center?
Anyone recommend a nice place without paying Disney type $?
I looking at this place for about $50 a night. What else is out there that you would recommend for that price range?

Hi I stayed there with my 2 young daughters in January. The room and lobby was nice, clean. The outside of building not so nice. Pool not nice at all. No security at all not the best neighborhood, but never really felt scared but we were in hotel by dark because kids were worn out. Not sure if I'd stay again because of lack of security(single mom traveling with 2 young kids), but the room was nice staff was nice and helpful. Hope this helps.
