I was curious when you go to FW...about how many days are you at the parks compared to days you hang out around the Fort ??

Our last trip we were there for 7 nights and spent only 1 day at a park( we did Sea World too, shhhh ;) ).
Our next trip is 12 nights, with 6 days at the parks.

2004- 2 days at parks and FW
2007- (jan)- We stayed 5 days and only spent 3 half days at the parks.
2007-Nov- We are planning 4 days at the parks and 1 day at FW

Typically 1 or 2 days at the parks over a 10 day stay. I just like hanging out at the Fort.

We rarely spend all day at the Fort, we almost always end up going somewhere, even if it's not a park. The days we aren't going to a park we'll normally play some mini golf, go to Downtown Disney, or check out other resorts.

We do have days though where the majority of our time is spent at the Fort, especially if we're planning a big meal that night.

Typical 7 days at the fort for us equals 6 days at the parks. Don't go to a park the first day because we're too tired from traveling. Last day is a limited time at the parks and more time at the campsite cleaning and getting ready to leave. Just once I'd like time in the MH to enjoy FW and all the other things WDW has to offer besides the parks! We used to go down for 2 weeks and still we'd go to a park every day ... there's never enough time!

When we go in December, 1st day is used to decorate campsite.:santa: Most days we go to a park. Most important relax! Just got to love being at FW.:jumping1:

When we are at the fort, its on an extended stay. We usually hit the parks the first few days like crazy because we try to time our arrival during a lull in attendance. After we have "done" every park at least once we relax and slow down. I think we probably are in some park 5 days out of 7.....maybe taking in a parade, hitting one of our favorite rides or catching dinner somewhere. We have lots of friends that come to Fla. and stay for the winter. They shake their heads at us for what we spend to stay at the fort. I think its a fair trade off----where else can I get all the entertainment, food, exercise and meet so many friendly people ??? And the bonus with todays gas prices.....I dont have to fire up the fuel guzzling truck to do any of it!:goodvibes

We might schedule one full day to just hang around FW but we do many half days. With annual passes (and staying 15 days each December), we don't feel the need to "get our money's worth" out of every park day, so we might go to a park for a few hours in the morning, come back to the campsite and spend some time at the Fort, and either go back to a park, Downtown Disney or a resort in the evening. Unless, of course, we do the campfire and check out Christmas decorations at all the campsites. I love being able to play it by ear and not being tied to a tight schedule.

Out of the responses so far this is about the closest to what we do. Over a 30 day stay we might have 5 to 7 days where we either go to an outlet mall, do grocery shopping, or laundry and don't go to either a park, resort, or DTD. We generally never spend all day at the parks, but several hours in the morning and then several hours after say 5pm.

I totally agree. Everyone should take at the time to enjoy FW. During the Holidays I visit all of the "nice" resort to check out the decorations.

We try to get to the Fort around noon the day before our passes begin. That's Fort and Downtown Disney time. Then it's everyday at least one park.

We are always going somewhere. To one of the parks or DTD. We didn't spend a whole day at the Fort and go no where else last trip and probably won't this time either. With that said we do get a fair amount of time at the Fort too. It is just the two of us so we don't have very strict schedules. There are some days that we would go out for a while then come back in the afternoon for a while. Maybe go back out somewhere else that night. We go around to the resorts and check out their Christmas decorations and of course go looping in our cart to see the decorations around the Fort. We really enjoy doing that.

Most days if not all at the park for some or most of the day. Looping at the Fort in the evenings in sis's cart with me dinking beer,

Good citizen....you should never drink and drive, even in a golf cart:thumbsup2......you could hit a peacock and spill it!!

We're staying Sat - Sat and have 4 days planned at the parks. It's our first trip, and our kids will be totally overwhelmed if we tried to do a park every day! We want to see what's there other than the theme parks! Oh, and DH has to present 2 sessions at a Conference mid-week. Which is kinda of the real reason we'll be in Orlando anyway!!

When we go to orlando either staying at Disney or offsite ,we hit the parks for 2 days and my girls let me drive them to there shopping......me i just find the nearest watering hole and wait for them to get me:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 I have a dont ask dont tell policy when were at Disney or in orlando:teacher: ...Dont tell me how much it cost at the mall and dont remind me my beer is 6 or 7 bucks!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That way we all have a wonderfull vacation....Nobody likes Grizzly bear dad!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We allways go and play putt putt somewhere, sometime's a day at the waterparks, and my wife say's no trip to disney is complete unless we go to downtown disney and eat at wolfgang pucks:confused3 :confused3But we allways spend at least one day ahnging out at the Fort!

We typically only spend half our days in the parks and the other half are spent around FW mostly. Oh sure, we do the putt-putt, DownTown Disney, maybe one water park. I don't want to go-go-go every day....

After all, it's a vacation!

we wish we had more time to just relax at the Fort and do the fun stuff there- so in August we took a 4 night/ 5 day trip. We only went to the Princess and Pirate party. I wanted to do the campfire, trial rides, frill out and sit back and chill... but it rainned every night and we missed it all. :sad1:

Going in 8 days but now we are only planning 1 day off and 4 days at the parks.

Most of our FW trips are 7-8 days. We will generally spend 5-6 days in the parks (although not necessarily full days). If we were staying longer we'd definitely take more advantage of the campground.

Just back and we did 1 water park and 2 days at the parks. Do a lot of bumming around to other things, hotels, downtown disney, etc. You have to take time to relax.
