HI,

Thought I'd start a thread to see how long you are all planning on being at Disney World (or have already done) and what parks / sites you are thinking...and the age of your kids (if any), since it may make a difference with younger vs older kids vs no kids.

I'm still trying to figure it out, and my thoughts have changed, so at the moment....

  1. Sun - Arrive - Downtown Disney
  2. Mon - Magic Kingdom
  3. Tues - Hollywood Studios
  4. Wed - Offsite (still to be determined what we'll do)
  5. Thurs - Epcot
  6. Fri - Magic Kingdom
  7. Sat - Leave :-(

My kids will be 9 and 5 when we come....a boy and a girl....so I can see us having to split up for various attractions.

We have 2 kids (10 & 13). We are planning 9days/9nights. Generally, we do park hoppers and go with the flow. Our trip is during the busy time of Thanksgiving week. We plan on taking a day off mid week to rest the feet and let the kids swim. :cool1:

We're going the first week of June. It's our DS5's (he'll have just turned 6 at the time) second trip. We're staying off site six nights with five days in the parks. No hoppers. The plan is:
Day 1: MK
Day 2: AK
Day 3: Epcot
Day 4: Epcot
Day 5: MK

This will allow us to stagger our later nights. So we'll stay for Wishes on the first day but head back to the hotel after AK closes around 7 on the second day. Stay for Illuminations on the third day but leave after dinner on the fourth. You get the idea.

In May we'll be in WDW for 10 nights, it's myself and DD (she'll be 5 at the time). We have APs and frequently hop at some point in the afternoon but our morning park follows EasyWDW's crowd calendar. Our schedule looks like this:

  • 5-5: Arrival, dinner at MK
  • 5-6: MK
  • 5-7: EP
  • 5-8: AK
  • 5-9: HS (and my 30th birthday!)
  • 5-10: EP
  • 5-11: HS
  • 5-12: EP
  • 5-13: AK
  • 5-14: MK

We'll hop to another park on probably 6-8 of those days.

Our kids will be 9, 7, 5, and 2 on our next trip which is 2 weeks in May. Our trips are generally 10-14 14 days and we spend 2 mornings at HS, AK and Epcot and 3 mornings at MK. We are there for rope drop and by lunch every day we are headed to one of the water parks. After dinner we go back to one of the parks til closing. Depending on the length of our stay we will have 1-4 days that we sleep in and then stay at the resort pool or go to the water park, have dinner at a signature restaurant and have a bit of an earlier night. And one night each trip we eat at T-Rex, go to lego store and Disney Quest.

We'll be arriving in May. Myself, wife and DD5 along with my parents. Staying offsite.

Wed: Arrive (late) stay near MCO
Thurs: Disney Dream cruise day 1
Fri: Disney Dream cruise day 2
Sat: Disney Dream cruise day 3
Sun: Disney Dream cruise day 4/travel to Orlando
Mon: Pool day
Tues: MK
Wed: Pool day (dinner with the wife at Cali Grill)
Thurs: Downtown Disney, BBB for DD5, dinner at Narcoosee's
Fri: DHS, Hollywood & Vine character lunch
Sat: Pool day
Sun: Travel home

No trip planned. Here's what my DD18 and I did in December.

Arrive 1pm-ish on Sunday - DHS
Monday- Epcot am/MK pm
Tuesday- AK am/MK pm
Wednesday - DHS day/Disney Quest evening til close
Thurs- MK am/pool/DHS for Osborne Lights/Epcot for dinner and Illuminations

That's awesome. We looked at mixing Disney Cruise with Disney World, but it was out of our budget. So...it just means in 2 years time or so, we may be doing the cruise.

I'm impressed with how long you are all able to stay at Disney World. My husband thinks even 4 straight days of Disney will be too much for him...plus it means more vacation time, more days missed from school (going mid Oct) plus again, its over our budget as we need to include flight. Would love to do a bit longer trip through.

Going June 21-29, DD's are 15, 16 & 18
Sat - MK
Sun - DHS, pool, WCC dinner, MK
Mon - water park, pool/rest, Beaches&Cream, DHS
Tue - EP, Kona dinner, MK
Wed - sleep in, Riverside breakfast, MK, Planet Hollywood dinner, DTD
Thur - AK, Yak&Yeti, pool, counter dinner
Fri - MK (CP breakfast), AK late afternoon, Rainforest dinner
Sat - DHS, MK, evening undecided
Sun - MK then home :(

We'll be there 7 nights the last week of October. Our girls will be 6 and 8.

Tentative plans:
Sat-arrival
Sun-MK
Mon-Epcot
Tue-HS
Wed-Epcot
Thu-MK
Fri-MNSSHP
Sat-go home

But this of course may and probably will go out the window when park hours are released :rolleyes2

What is MNSSHP?
And are park hours less in October?

This trip came about in an odd way. Originally, I was scheduled to attend a conference at the Grand Floridian in January...SCORE! I was pumped not only for our first stay there, but the fact that part of it was on the company dime and that we could extend the stay at the conference rate of $179/night! :hyper: So that prompted us to tack on a cruise at the end of that trip. We have never cruised before and thought a short one would be a good way to try it out. However, long story short, my attendance at the conference fell through so we had to reschedule. :furious:

Therefore, we moved it to May, pushed the cruise first, and are staying offsite through a trade of our timeshare.

My DD is 5, and this will be her 6th trip to Orlando. We've always stayed offsite (due to the timeshare) which has allowed us to afford these trips (~$200 in exchange fees for a week in a 3-bedroom condo? SURE!). The last few trips we've tacked on a few extra days, which we've loved, by using our Hilton HHonors points, again keeping the cost low.

We typically only spend 1-2 days in the parks on one of these trips. We'll make 1-2 trips to Downtown Disney as well as trip or two to resort restaurants. This mix of Disney/pool time has worked well for our family.

Finally, DD5 is only in kindergarten, which has allowed us this flexibility (especially in years past). We did have to get approval from the school first though...

Well, we will have 5 nights, but, the arrival day we will arrive mid day and we will be up extra early so we will not be going to the parks. However, we will have dinner at Chef Mickey's so that will be a great way to start our time:goodvibes. Monday we go to Epcot, Tues and Wed we will be at Magic Kingdom and Thursday at Animal Kingdom :cool1:. I had to decide what park to miss as I know we will need 2 days at MK. Children ages 7 and 5 so that is how I came to my park plans. pixiedust: We have just a few more weeks...:angel:

No Animal Kingdom?

For your Saturday, if you have a few hours in the morning, you can do one last visit to your favorite park, for rides you really liked. This upgrade costs about $10 per person if you have a 4 (or 5) day ticket.

This works even if you get the tickets through a discounter like UT. But don't upgrade until after you've gone through the turnstile at least once.

We are staying 7 nights, arriving on a Tuesday and leaving on a Tuesday.

Day 1 - flight lands at 10:30am, go check in (onsite), DTD for Rainforest Cafe, DHS for some FP+

Day 2 - MK Rope drop, no ADRs, lunch at BOG

Day 3 - Ohana bfast, Epcot, Via Napoli dinner

Day 4 - DS2's 11th birthday at DHS, Jedi Training, lunch at SciFi

Day 5 - AK, brunch at Tusker House, Ohana dinner

Day 6 - Epcot, no ADRs

Day 7 - MK, Pre-park opening Crystal Palace, BOG dinner

Day 8 - board ME bus at 9am

I try to stay aware of which days are "best" for each park, and when I checked this park plan against EasyWDW I was right on. The only day we're going off track is our last day at MK, but it's a must do for me. That day is my day! Really, this day layout just works for my family and what we want to do. All of our evenings are pretty open b/c I'm looking to book (tomorrow!!) early dinners. We have ideas about what FP+ we want, but we want to be flexible, and we will park hop. There will be breaks and pool time whenever we feel it is warranted.

I have vowed to be easy going on this trip and I want to keep that promise! That just means we get to go back again to do what we missed this time around :)

Just starting to plan our next trip, but our last was the week before xmas 6 nights

Arrive Sunday: Attend MVMCP
Monday: AK (dinner Boma)
Tuesday: MK (breakfast CP)
Wednesday: EP (Breakfast Akusur)
Thursday: HS (Lunch Hollywood & Dine)
Friday: MK (Dinner Chef Mickey)
Sat: breakfast at 1900 PF and depart

We will probably go about the same time, we will NOT be going MVMCP on our first night again...to tired the next day. Oh our kids are 5, 4 and 1

We arrive 2/23 for a week. We have a 2 year old and have bought 5 day Park Hoppers.

Sunday: Long drive, check-in at AK, possibly head to DTD for dinner and some shopping. Maybe a monorail ride?

Monday: Epcot, possibly MK for Electric Parade

Tuesday: MK, adult dinner at Flying Fish Cafe

Wednesday: Day off, ADR at Ohana's for breakfast, then DTD, pool, etc.

Thursday: HS

Friday: MK

Saturday: AK and maybe MK to end trip

Sunday: Leave

With only 5 park days where are you considering offsite? We would focus totally on WDW. It is huge, it is wonderful, there is nothing to compare.
With the ages of your children I think they would enjoy AK. If not, we spend more than 1 day in Epcot!!
Enjoy

We'll be there March 22-28, we start driving down on the 21st, our boys are 7 & 9. We are camping at Fort Wilderness in our travel trailer.

1 Sat - Arrive, Magic Kingdom
2 Sun - EPCOT, Dinner at Coral Reef
3 Mon - Magic Kingdom, Breakfast at 'Ohana
4 Tue - Animal Kingdom, Dinner at Trails End
5 Wed - Hollywood Studios
6 Thr - Relax at the Fort, Downtown Disney for lunch at TRex and last minute souvenir shopping, Mickey's Backyard BBQ
7- Leave :sad1: Breakfast at Trails End, 18 hour drive home

May do Chip 'N Dale's campfire sing-a-long and movie at the campground one evening if we cut a park day short.

GWhitten98, your schedule looks very similar but with one extra park day....and the restaurants you listed are in our list of possibilities too.

Hopefully, I would totally spend all time at Disney World, but my husband says he'll go crazy with too much Disney as it's not for everyone. So this is our compromise....4 full days and staying onsite (onsite for me), as long as we do one day outside of Disney (for him).

Not sure the plan offsite. Personally, I'd love to visit Universal, but there's also sea world, or he may want to keep it more low key with just some shopping, maybe beach...not sure yet. We are going to rent a car for the week.
