my ds8months has been at daycare since the age of 5 months. he has 3 primary teachers, all young girls. i am getting them sephora gift cards, $25 each. they are awesome and my baby loves all of them. it is hard to put a price on what they do for him and i think the giftcards are well deserved.
my dilemma is, he is now transitioning into the older infant classroom, which is just adjacent and connected to his current classroom. he currently spends a little time in the middle of the day over there. i see the older infant teachers every day, but don't really know them well. he will be fully transitioned there by end of this month. i have no idea what presents to get the new teachers. there are 3 of them. it is a little out of my budget to get them all 25 dollar gift cards, and i'm not sure i should get them that "big" a present, since i don't know them well yet. however, they do take care of my son, seem awesome at what they do and i feel i should give them a token of appreciation and save the bigger present for another occasion.
what should i give the new teachers? wwyd??
thanks in advance!

I would just get the older room teachers a tray of bagels, or something edible to share.

My dd goes to pre-school and there are a lot of "helpers" she sees for spurts throughout the day (lunch, etc.), and I made a beautiful tray of chocolate covered goodies for them all to enjoy.

what about a pair of stretchy magic gloves and some hand cream....tied up with a cute ribbon? cheap, cute, and who couldn't use another pair of gloves?

I wanted to get my co-workers a little something for Christmas so I bought those pocket size antibacterial hand santizers from Bath and Body. They were $1 a piece. Then I got the little holder thingys for $.50 a piece. I plan to wrap them in little bags with some wrapped Dove chocolates.

I love my DD4 and my DS1's daycare. As any working parent can tell you, having a place you can take your kids that you feel like they are safe, secure, and learning is priceless. When my DD4 moved out of the infant room into the toddler room I was buying presents for her current teachers and still the infant room teachers. Once I realized I couldn't afford to keep that habit up and switched to ordering lunch for all the teachers in the daycare before the holidays and they love it! Last year I saw the lunch date on the teachers calendar so I assume that they look forward to it!

This doesn't help you this year, but perhaps next year...

My DS (6.5) was at the same daycare from 9 months until just this fall (but goes back on school closure days and will go back in the summer) - over the years we had contact with just about everyone there so we went in with two other families and bought a Keurig machine for the center. Everyone loved it, plus any time another holiday or reason to buy gifts came around (teacher appreciation, etc) we could just buy a big box or two of the K cups at BJ's.

I think $25 for each of 3 teachers is very generous. If your child is transitioning out, so are the kids in the older infant room, and those parents will probably only buy for the "old" teachers too. It all evens out. If you want to acknowledge them in some way, a homemade treat is always a good choice.

Thank you all for the advice and ideas! I made some chocolate mint bark yesterday which came out yummy and looks pretty too. I think I will give that out along with some small Burt's Bees lotions from the holiday grab bag.
Thanks again-love all the ideas!
