I am looking for information about the Studios at the Boardwalk Villas. I was under the impression that some of these rooms have a daybed in addition to the pull out sofa and queeen size bed. Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms? Thanks, Minnie's Mommy:

I don't think that any of the studios have an additional daybed, just the queen bed and the sofa bed.

I think it's called a "studio plus". And it's not a daybed like the ones in GF, Poly, etc. It's a bench with a pad on it. I've seen photos of them, and personally, I wouldn't even have thought it was a bed. It looks like something you'd put at the end of the bed and sit on to tie your shoes. :rotfl:

That said, I have heard reports of kids sleeping on the bench. It's only big enough for small children.

If no one posts a photo here, try posting on the DVC board.

Yes we stayed in one. I asked at Check-in for a Studio_Plus and the lady politely laughed at me and said they don't have them. Then we got to our room and low and behold there it was. We were on the fifth floor in a studio over looking the Courtyard area and boat dock. It was a nice view. We paid for a preferred studio and the only request I had was "close to elevator". Sorry I can't remember the room.

The "daybed" is really a bench and my daughter at the time was 4 and she barely fit on it. She didn't complain because it was better than sleeping with her brother in the sofa bed! She is tall for her age.

Don't know how to post pictures so I can't show you a picture. If you go to BWI pictures they have the same daybeds. However, NOT ALL STUDIOS At BWV will have this bench!

Hope this helps!

The "studio plus" is not a booking category and cannot be requested. Even if you do get someone to put it down as a request for you, there is not guarantee that you will get it. My son refused to sleep on it when he was about 5.

By the way, the sleeper sofa is only double sized in the studio. The bed is queen sized.

I've had the exact same studio two times now...believe it or not....and it is one of the studio plus ones. No way would I think anyone would want to sleep on it. It truly is a padded bench. I used it to sit on and put on my shoes, and to hold our bags. I slept on a daybed at the Polynesian and it wasn't even close to the 'bench' at BWV in size. It's pretty narrow, short and hard. But it is nice to have that extra bit of seating in the studio.

I agree. Only a small child would probably be ok with it. My DD just loved having her own "bed". She would never be able to fit on it now, so BWV studios are out for us. We are trying GF for the first (and probably only) time ever and are looking forward to a bigger "bed" for her.

1) It is NOT a day bed.
2) It is a sitting bench.
3) The bench is softened with a cushion.

4) Not sure I want my face laying where butts have sat.

I've had this room at the BWV and agree, it's just a bench with a cushion. However, I've stayed at the BWI and the room we had had 2 Q beds and a daybed and it was truely a daybed. That would be the room you want if the daybed is important to you.
