Can someone please describe to me the "daybed" at the Poly? Is it large enough for a 3 y/o to sleep on? We are planning a Fall/Winter 2006 trip to WDW and there will be 3 adults, a 5 y/o and a 3 y/o. Just trying to figure out the best accomodations. Any advise would be most appreciated!

Absolutely! My then 10 y/o dd slept on the daybed there. And she is tall for her age. It's really a twin bed size. I have the same type set-up in my basement. It's a twin bed with an upholstered cover over it. Shouldn't be any problems at all. In fact, I slept in it one night and I'm 5'8"!!!

OP - The daybed is definitely big enough for either your 3 or 5 yr. old. DD7 slept on it for our entire week's vacation and it was suitable. The one in our room made lots of noises/squeaks with even the slightest movements, so that was disruptive, but hopefully ours was the exception.

OK, this is funny to me as I thought OURS was the exception!! My son slept on it on our first Poly stay last summer. Between that daybed squeeking and creeking all night and the AC shutting off I didn't get one decent night sleep!!

Hope the new room set ups are made of sturdier stuff!!

It was 1997, but I slept on the day bed at the Polynesian for most of our trip. I am 5'11".

My 10 year old son slept on it as well this past June for 7 nights. He is 5' 3" and 130 pounds and he said he slept great every night. It looked like it was a standard single mattress.

Hope that helps a bit.

My 8 year old sister LOVED the daybed! She wanted us to ask if we could buy it and take it home

Many times that we have gone an adult has slept on the daybed and loved it. Never had any creeks from ours. Infact we love it so much we just purchased one from the stuff they are taking out of the rooms to do the new design.

We stayed at the Poly in June. My 17YO used the daybed and was very comfortable. The Poly daybeds are the largest on property.

My 6'6" DS used the daybed during our trip in June....same size mattress as his twin bed at home.....of course, he doesn't really "fit" on any mattress, but he had no trouble sleeping. Except he had a very squeeky bed this time, too. It didn't annoy us, but it annoyed him, even with ear plugs. Never noticed it on any other stays, though, so I think it was just a bad bed. We didn't ask for a change though.
