Tuesday 16th Eco tour & KSC
The Cast: Me 30 something total planner for holiday
DW 30 something likes a quiet life
DD 13 going on 21 total poser has an answer for everything
DS 10 nearly 11 loves soccer and winding us up
Me & Danny up at 7 am to get ready for father son day I was really looking forward to this no women just us guys, we left the room about 7.45 am to go to the lobby as we left the room I kindly suggested to my DW that she could do a washing today before going to the spa and oh by the way ask at front desk for our welcome gift I got a grunt in reply our pick up was for 8 am which we where lucky to get the trip was booked in the UK and when I called on Saturday to find about pick up times etc they asked where we where staying our hotel was not on their list of pick ups but the girl on the other end of the phone said oh thats quite a nice hotel and its not out of the drivers way so we will just pick u up there excellent I thought but when 8 am came and went I thought oh no after waiting another 5 minutes I was about to call them when a bellboy came up and told me that my pick up had called and they where running about 30 minutes late (at least they called) I went into the Orchid lounge and got Danny cereal & milk also got some for the girls and took theirs to the room our pick up arrived about 8.35 am only 2 seats left on the coach so me & Danny sit in separate seats for the journey for 10 of us passengers the first stop is the air boat ride at Christmas this was fantastic very noisy and as it was raining at times pretty wet we saw plenty of gators and a few bald eagles at the end we got to hold a baby gator which was great, Danny was having a great time as was I there was a little store there as well I bought Danny a few souvenirs and some postcards the coach returned for us about an hour after dropping us off we then went on to KSC security at KSC must have been on alert it took 45 minutes to get in it was tighter than the airports and by the way it was pouring down now I told Danny to stand under cover while I waited in line to get in remember this was not a line to get tickets but to actually get in after getting your tickets as soon as we where past security we headed to the astronaut encounter this was pretty good we even got our picture took and shook his hand it was still raining so we headed to the gift shop to get an umbrella Danny saw a pretty cool leather bomber jacket NASA style only $50 so I bought it for him remember his sister was getting about $100 spent on her at the spa so it was fair we both enjoyed KSC seeing the sights we didnt do the tour or the I-max films I thought these might be to boring for Danny so we did the cool stuff in one attraction u get a passport which gets stamped at certain parts of the attraction we also found out really interesting info on the shuttle Danny was fascinated we had lunch two very big sandwiches coke beer and giant chocolate chip cookie $22 u got free refills on the juice until closing of café at 4 pm KSC was pretty busy we bought most of our gifts for people at home here our pick up back to hotel was at 5.15 pm normally 4.30 pm but due to late pick ups etc they gave everyone extra time which was good we where first drop off so we where back in room for just after 6 pm both of my girls where back in room getting ready for night out my wife and daughter are going to do a report on their day at the Spa that evening we had a ps for Margaretville at 8 pm we all got ready and went over about 7.15 pm Danny with his new jacket which we had to prise off him for rest of holiday when we arrived at Margaretville they where telling people 2-3 hr wait 1-2 hrs for on site guests but when I told them I called and arranged a ps 2 weeks ago I was let through to desk yep its ok so we had a drink at bar it was very busy our table was ready at 8 pm but was not impressed with location it was right next to bar not on floor with kids entertainers it all looked fun but we where way out of it so never experienced it for the meal 2 cheese burgers in paradise, chicken Caesar salad, Cuban meatloaf sandwich whos to blame in souvenir glass kids cocktail, soft drinks 1 beer Bahama Mama $58 after discount $66 with tip it was ok but not worth a 2 hour wait the meal was good no complaints there at all just location of table and lack of circulating by the entertainers after dinner we went into the gift shop I got a hat and some beads also got my discount as well then we strolled through city walk and got some cinnamon stick and frosting at cinnabons for desert before we got the boat back the kids tried the games there word of warning dont these are fixed my son picked a blue ball in his net for a prize but when the attendant emptied the net she had a white ball underneath his blue ball so the white ball was his prize which was a very small prize now I was watching and he only caught one ball so I figure she pocketed a white ball and slipped it when taking out blue ball I didnt say anything to her as I didnt want a scene just a word of warning be wary at city walk with the carnival games we where all in bed by 11.30 oh and I got my welcome gift a nice bottle of red wine and nuts but my DW asked for white wine at first they delivered a fruit basket and water which she returned even though the waiter told her she could have it and he would get the wine for her but being a canny Scots lass she thought we might get charged for it (sill girl) so he returned with a bottle of red my DW just accepted it but did mention it was white she wanted but would keep it anyway at night when we returned they had delivered the white as well so not too bad both wines where delicious.
