Forgot to mention on Day one that I want to thank who ever it was on these boards that gave the tip to move the two beds at ASMu together to make one big bed. It was great! DH & I both had our own covers and plenty of room. I left a note for housekeeping to leave it arranged this way and that we'd move it back when we left and she did. Our housekeeper was great and left notes for us every day.

First day in the parks. We wake up early and hike to the bus stop so we are there by 8:00. We had absolutely no problems with All Star Buses during our stay. Lines were long at times, but there was always a bus just behind another one in case you were not able to fit on the first one. I was very pleased with that.

We arrived at Magic Kingdom by around 8:30. Security was no problem. I think it really just depends on whose line you get in. Kind of watch as you are approaching....some move faster than others. They opened the gates around 8:30, so we were able to amble down Main Street and enjoy the characters in Town Square early. Got great pictures of the castle and the Partner's statue with no one in them at all. Most everyone that had entered were rushing to get to the ropes and then just standing there. Went to Fantasyland at rope drop and got to ride all the rides in the first 45 minutes. Tigger walked on the Pooh ride just as we were getting in our car. He ended up in the car behind us, which I got a picture of. Later In the week, I'd get to ride with Tigger which was a highlight. Next we hit Liberty Square and did Haunted Mansion and the first show of HoP. Our next stop was for a strawberry bar (my favorite treats). DH relaxed on a bench in Frontierland while I nabbed FP for Splash Mountain. We had just enough time to watch Country Bear Jamboree before our FP time came up. Stopped at Pecos Bills for some yummy Chili & Cheese Fries, then off to Adventureland. No line at Pirates of the Caribbean and we also had time do watch the Tiki Birds before staking our claim for the parade. My favorite spot is curbside on the Tomorrowland side of the Hub, so we have to get there an hour early or so. I loved the parade! It was great! Afterwards we went back and finished up Adventureland and then caught the show at th Castle. This was a highlight of the trip. Very well done and so many characters! After the show we checked out the shops on Main Street and then it was about time for our PS at Plaza. (see restaurant review). It started pouring while we were there and didn't let up the rest of the evening. Actually, little did we know, this was nothing compared to what was in store for us later. We went to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz (DH's favorite) and the TTA. Then headed back to Fronteirland and rode the Riverboat. We headed over the the Train and rode it round trip too. Around 8:15 it was still pouring and we decided not to stick around on the curb waiting to see if they were going to have Spectro or not. They didn't. Actually the didn't for 2 or 3 days in a row after that. That was the first time I'd every left the Magic Kingdom before closing. :( DH told me to get over it :) And I did.....plenty of more magic to come in the days ahead!

What a fun day to start your adventure with - thanks for posting!

Thanks for the tip about the MK opening a bit early. We're going at the end of July and since our kids get up at 6:30 anyway, we might as well get to the park when the gates open. Even if we're held up at the ropes, it'll be a nice way to spend a half hour walking down Main Street.

Sounds like a great first day at the Magic Kingdom. You were able to get a lot done!
