This is the Friday of our great vacation.
Players again are : myself, DH 39, DS 16, DD 12.
We slept in a little on Friday, so we started the day at about 9:30am. After grabbing a bite in the Orchid Lounge, we headed straight for Universal. I couldn't wait to do the Mummy. DH couldn't pass by shrek, so off we went to do Shrek. The lines had already begun, and there was no express sign. I walked up the the attendant and asked if there was express. She said that there was no more express for Shrek, only for hotel guests. So, we pulled out the magic key, and walked right into the que room. "Tip" Make sure that you don't just ask for the express line for Shrek. Let the attendants know that you are a hotel guest. Shrek was wonderful as usual. It's great to watch the newbies as the 4D effects are taking place. After Shrek, we headed for another of our family's favorites Jimmy Neutron. After a great time at Jimmy, we headed for the Mummy, but heard an announcement saying that the Mummy was down for technical difficulties. I was a little bummed
but knew that I had 3 more days to ride it. Since we were already in the neighborhood, we watched the Blues Brothers show, and took some great pictures. After the show, we headed for Twister. Still pretty good fun. We were starting to get a little hungry, so we stopped at Captain Quints seafood and Chowder House. DH and DS shared a shrimp basket, and DD and myself shared a chicken finger platter, plus 3 drinks. Bill $25.19. Not a bad price for lunch for four, and those baskets have alot of food. After lunch we decided to let our food settle, and what better way to do than to take a relaxing ride on Jaws. I could tell that the sharks had been spruced up a bit, and the ride is still fun, if you like the classics. After Jaws we hurried over to MIB, where our scores, were pretty good. At least we weren't bug bait
We continued to move around the park, doing BTTF, then DD and myself rode ET, and watch the Horror Make-up Show. Sorry, fly fly, no Ghostbusters on this trip
The horror show was a lot of fun. It was new for me, because i didn't do it on my last trip. What fun, when they take the unsuspecting audience member up on stage, and make a fool of them....in the nicest way of course
After the show, we decided to call it a day at the parks, as get some pool time in. We headed back to RPR, enjoyed some pool fun. Around 7:00pm we headed to dinner at Motown Cafe. The atmosphere was terrifc. We loved the music, and the memorabilia was outstanding. DH had DS had rack of baby back ribs....no this isn't dejavu...they had ribs again
DD had...you guessed it chicken fingers, and i had a chicken caesar salad and baked potato soup. bill 79.00 with a 15% gratuity already added. Unfortunately, we didn't have any GC's for Motown. After dinner, we went over to NBA city to play some games. That was big fun, so after that we decided to call it a night and head back to RPR. I'm not putting much ride details in there, but will be happy to answer any ride questions. I'm focusing on the cost of and types of food, because that's what I wanted to know, before I went. It helped me with my budgeting. Let me know if you have questions about anything that i'm not covering. Day three is on the horizon.....
