Will be going to visit the mouse in May and would like to take off for a day and do a day trip. Have already been to Space Center, Mt. Dora and Cleerwater. Anyone have any other suggestions for a trip no more tham 2 hours away.

Well it's not really a 'trip' but we loved Discovery Cove if you can make the budget work. It's expensive but we considered it worth it for a 'once in a lifetime' type experience.

why not take a day trip to disney's wilderness preserve... If you're into the whole nature thing. I heard it's not far from property and only a few bucks per person. Or there's some great air boat rides you can do, there's quite a few in the southern area of osceola county.

Tampa area has some nice things to do.

Is there anything in particular your family likes to do??

You mentioned doing the space coast already but i've heard there's a launch in may... Like second to last one ever for florida. It'll be part of history. Even if your not planning on being here for the schedule date... You never know, they might scrub the launch. Seems to happen a lot.

Have you been to st augistine?? Lots of history there as well. And i've read lots of good eating too.

We love to visit a beach. It's a nice relaxing diversion from Disney and not expensive or to far. Linda :)

I suggest St Augustine. It's the oldest city in the US and the Spanish fort is amazing. You can check out Daytona Beach on the way but the St Augustine beaches are quite nice.

Hi debsays!

We took my Dad to a launch in Nov, and had a different adventure each day (including KSC and Epcot).

I recommend "Spirit of the Swamp" airboat ride, just a bit S of Kissimmee. WELL worth the cost, you get a private ride for your party (up to 6, I think). The 2-hr tour was awesome! :thumbsup2

Another nice little stop was the Showcase of Citrus groves, just N on Hwy 27. You can pick-your-own or pick from what's been picked, try samples, and they have a Swamp Buggy tour. Best orange blossom honey we've had in a LONG time. :lovestruc Probably not a full day's excursion, though.

And Cocoa Beach can always be fun! :yay: If you're there on the right day, you can watch the cruise ships come in or go out, from the deck at Fish Lips restaurant. FABULOUS Scallops Risotto, Crab Cakes, and Clam Chowder.:worship:

Happy planning!
