Day trip to see Harry Potter (from WDW)?

Hi! I need some tips/suggestions/advice and I am turning to the best resource on the web -- DIS members!!!

The family is staying at WDW this mid-June (as soon as school ends). We want to take 1 day just to see Harry Potter (we toured US/IOS a couple years ago and stayed on-site, and we are not thrill riders but big HP fans).

My questions:
1) Do we need to add express pass to 1-day tickets if we go to HP first?
2) what time should we be at IOA?
3) debating car rental vs taxi pros & con
4) any other advice specially about WW of Harry Potter? (day of the week to go, things not to miss, etc)

FJ and ollivanders do not have express lines.

never buy the express plus pass until you are in the park.
the eep's are date and park related, no refunds.

use the single rider lines if wait times are lengthy.

if the park opens at 9:00 on the day you will be there, be in line at 8:30.

tue-wed-thur are great days to be at ioa
usually less peeps

buy your one day tickets from Dreams Unlimited and get the transporation with it,
check out their site for details and more info.

other possibilities are car service, taxi, car rental.
with car rental, you will have to pay for parking at UO.

We always book the Mears Shuttle to go to Universal. It is $19 round trip and you book it 24 hours in advance. Usually we have them pick us up at 8am, the park opens at 9am, then we plan for them to pick us up to take us back to the Disney resort around 3-4p. We get both parks done in that much time because we only ride the thrill rides.

If you get there when it opens and go STRAIGHT to Harry Potter you will not wait long. HP does not accept express passes anyway.

To be clear, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a land within IoA, and contains four attractions. Two of those attractions do accept Express (Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff), and two do not (Forbidden Journey and Ollivander's).
