Day trip to Miami

Blimey - a 5 year old thread!

I even posted on a slightly different name last time - had to change as I got a new pc and forgot my password (I think).

Miami I really like, but I don't personally think it's for kids. You are right though, best shopping in Florida and South Beach is THE place to be seen.

Nearby Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach are well worth a visit but as I say in my opinion Miami is not a 'kids place'.

Are you thinking about a day trip to Miami from Orlando? If so, it's really quite a way to go for the day.

It's a 4.5 hour drive, pretty straightforward, but that's 9 hours of your day taken up sitting in a car, with the kids

I would consider an overnight stop (or two) to really get the best out of it.
