We will be visting DLR in late May/early June and we have one day set aside to go to LA. As we are flying in and a party of 8 and don't want to drive in LA,we are not going to rent cars for airport transfers or the trip to LA. I've contacted a limo service for our LA trip, and since we are not at all familiar with the lay of the land, I need some help in planning the day.

The only portion that will have a reserved time will be when we take the Warner Bros. Studio tour. We can't make reservations that far ahead yet, but we are hoping for a tour that begins around 9:00 and it lasts around three hours.

So......

If we have a 9:00 tour, what time should we request the limo pick us up? (This will be on Memorial Day, Monday May 30)
The other places we want to visit are Rodeo Drive, the Culver Studios (no tour available there---just want to get some pics of what was the Selznick Studios where GWTW was filmed), see the Hollywood sign. maybe Graumann's Chinese Theatre.

In what order would you suggest seeing each of these sites, and do you think pickup, visit these sites and return to hotel is doable in 8-9 hours?

Are you interested in seeing downtown landmarks as well? I grew up down there and the one place that is a great spot is Olvera Street. (They have their own webpage.) Very historic area and you will get to see downtown...

Personally, I would give it about an hour to get to Burbank. I think it is only a total of 40 miles or so, but you just never know when you have to go on the I-5 through downtown. Maybe some locals can give you better info....

I would think ending at Rodeo Drive might work, since you could adjust that time the easiest. If you have more time, you can stay there longer.

Hope that helps. Have fun!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for the response. I did not know about Olvera Street but will certainly look at their site and check it out. I guess you can tell by my interest in the WB and Culver Studios that I'm a classic Hollywood film buff, but it would be great to see other historic sites as well.

I would do them in reverse order as you have listed.

Despite it being Memorial Day, that is a high traffic day because people don't have to go to work but they don't stay home. I'd probably be ready to get on the road around 7.

Hollywood can take the longest which is why i would do it last. You will be able to see the Hollywood Sign from there at various points. I suspect you will want to find a few stars on the walk of fame too.
