I am hoping to be able to visit the tower and look around Paris before heading home..

Is there any excersions available from Disney? where would I be able to book it.

Also does anyone know how far CDG airport is from the Eiffel tower as I am wondering whether to visit it the afternoon on the last day as our flight is not until the evening.. but saying that we will then have to take our luggage!! Hmmmmmm... perhaps we will have to go one morning for a few hours :)

thanks

Hi

I'm sneaking in on your post hoping for some advice myself. I am off to DLRP early Dec with DD and would love to head to Eiffel Tower with her one morning and see if we can squeeze in anything else in Paris. Can anybody give me a dummies guide from DLRP to the Tower? or any tips on anywhere else it is good to go and see with a 6 year old.

Thanks

Mags

I believe Disney do an organised tour of Paris which would include a stop at the tower, though it's cheaper to jump on the train and do it yourself. From the Disney train station (marne-la-valle) take the RER line A to Chatelet les halles. There you should switch to the RER line B to Saint-Michel/Notre Dame (you could get off here for a look around the stunning Notre Dame). Then switch to RER line C to Champ De Mars-Tour Eiffel.

Total journey time is 50mins and if you just follow the simple signs it's very easy to use. For the return journey just do it in reverse! Or may I suggest walking from the tower, up to the trocadero (fantastic view of the tower from here) along Avenue Kleber to the Arc D' triumph. It's about a 15minute walk and you'll also get to enjoy the famous Champs Elysees (home to many fashion shops; YSL, LV etc...) There is a rail station on the champs elysees that will take you back to Disney (metro line 1 to Chatelet, RER line A from Chatelet to Marne-la-Vallee)

You can buy a day ticket for €12.50 (£9, $18) called mobilis 1-5. This will allow unlimited travel on the Metro, RER and the local buses.

CDG is about 45mins on the trains from the Eiffel tower. To do it you have to take RER line C to Saint Michel-Notre Dame and then catch the RER line B to the airport. I personally wouldn't do that trip with luggage, it'd limit your fun at the tower.

Bear in mind the wait line at the tower can be extensive at peak times - 1 hour plus just to buy your ticket and then do the ascent (via lift) - shorter lines if you do the walk up to first platform only.

We are doing Paris as well at our next trip!! From what I remember, it's quite easy to find your way around Paris. So I would say, do it yourself, then you get to see what you want to see...
