Today we are off to Animal Kingdom. After a lot of hassle getting there waiting for buses we eventually decide to get in one the taxi’s that stop at the bus stop but then the driver makes a detour back to the I-Drive to pick up from a hotel. He drops us off at AK but by now it is over 2 hours since we left our hotel.

We head straight away for the Kilimanjaro Safari. Unfortunately we don’t see too many animals but it was enjoyable and I would do it again. We then get the train for Rafiki’s Planet Watch, we have a look around and sit and eat an ice cream whilst watching a talking bin. So now it’s time to cool off and we make our way to the Kali River Rapids.

There isn’t much of a queue so we get straight on and do we get soaked. DH reckons we are wet anyway so we may as well have another go; he certainly should eat his words on that one. We get back from the ride and the cm asks if we all want to stay on so everybody stays and we have a third go. After going around again the cm again asks if we want to stay on for another ride but by now I am finding it hard to find a dry patch of clothing and insist on getting off. We go for a sit down and wring out our socks and we are both dripping wet. Now this might be nice for a few minutes of cooling down but believe me after an hour or so it becomes downright uncomfortable.

We go and find a snack to eat and have some fries and a drink and then as I don’t particularly want to sit down for too long (my undies are soaked) we have a walk around and find ourselves in time to watch Tarzan Rocks. This was okay I quite enjoyed it and it least it was a bit cooler. From here we make our way to Dino Land and it’s time to ride the dreaded Dinosaur. It was loud, dark, and rattled my bones and I think I rode most of it with my eyes shut. It was definitely time for something more sedate so we made our way over to see it’s a bug’s life, which was good fun. From here we walked to Camp Mickey, it was pretty deserted but Mickey and Minnie were just coming out so we stayed to take a few photos. DH sat down on the bench whilst I had the camera and unknown to him Mickey was behind him and so crept up and gave him a hug.

It was fun to watch Mickey and Minnie interact with each other thanks to the cm with them. DH goes off to the loo so I have a sit down (I am nearly dry but not quite) tapping my feet to the music and Minnie summons me over and we have a dance around the area, I must admit I felt a bit daft but it was great fun. Donald Duck came out and so did Pluto and Goofy, what I didn’t realise at first is that this is a character meet and greet. The Festival of the Lion King finished and everyone was coming out and it was getting crowded so we head off and watch the Jungle Parade before heading back to meet our taxi home. I was disappointed I hadn’t seen the festival of the lion king but we just didn’t have enough time.

We had a rest and then a bite to eat before going to Pointe Orlando so that I could go to the Yankee Candle Shop before heading back to the hotel and flaking out on the bed.

Another great day ~ Thanx for posting.

A lovely day Cazzie. I always think it's great when the characters interact with the adults as well as the kids. We have had some great character meets during our stays.

Dancing with minnie. How exciting!!!! :teeth:

I too hate Dinosaur! And spend the whole thing with eyes shut!
