day room at Atlantis

Yes, it can be done. We just did it on the 9/27 Wonder. Of course the resort was empty due to the hurricane but we were able to rent a room for $150 for the day. They actually give you a room in the old building but it was clean and adequate but very far from the pools, etc.

I was not that thrilled with the resort and wrote about it in my trip report. Others have enjoyed it. $150 is a great rate considering a room at the Comfort Suites costs more than that with taxes, etc.

Your kids are beautiful!

thank you :D another questiond did you call ahead to atlantis to book it or wait till that day? I was thinking of the comfort suites but my kids are 3 and 5 and I think that would be a far walk for them to and from the room.

I don't know when you are planning to go to Atlantis, but this is my very recent experience...

Was on the 9/27 wonder. Stopped at Nassau on 9/28, went to Atlantis...After calling them the prior day (due to hurricane jeanne) to ensure that the resort was okay as we had travel insurance and could have recouped the $$$. We were told that Atlatis would honor our booking the following day. We had booked an overnight room in advance as we had intended to stay into the evening. We were told by their staff that the resort was "fully operational".

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT -- We arrived at Atlantis and the resort was NOT fully operational. The Beach Tower was closed for renovations and everything associated with the Beach Tower was as well. That meant that there was no tube/river ride. Throughout the Atlantis resort, the restaurants were not all operational, and what was open was staffed at a minimum. We found that almost every staff member we encoutered was pre-occupied with other matters involving other staff members; including yelling back and forth to each other, for non-sense. It was very disappointing leaving the courteous Wonder staff and interacting with staff at Atlantis who could have cared less about the patrons. Our check-in experience was not good either. They did not believe that we were told that our rese. would be honored the following day. There were delays checking in and the staff was rude.

It was very obvious that the resort did have some damage from the hurricane (foliage/water features) and the repairs were being performed under the guise of "renovations". Based on our encounter, we have decided to write them a letter this week detailing our experience. And, we have decided to avoid Atlantis on any future sailings. The resort did change the fee assessed our room from $215 to the $150 day rate as we had had enough and left the resort at 3:00 pm. -- My friend has vacationed at Atlantis and loved it; thus we decided to do it on this cruise. She was tremendously disappointed with our experience.

wow- Im sorry you had a bad experience. :(

we are going in Feb 2005 and dh really wants to do the water slide so Im looking into a room that I can take our son back to if he needs a nap.

AliPom, we were there on the same day and hated it! I described in detail in my trip report why. I am sure a lot of our dissapointment had to do with the hurricanes but I will never return there. My husband and I are sailing on Celebrity for my birthday in April and it stops in nassau. We will stay on the ship.

I did call the day of arrival via the ships phone (total was $27.00!!). I have heard that the comfort suites is actually closer than the Atlantis rooms to the actual pool .We were given a day room as far away from the pools as you could get!

wow- so the comfort suites rooms are closer? I imagine they would give you a room far away- I didnt think of that before. maybe I should bring the stroller.

We have also done a day room at the Atlantis and had a much different time than desribed here. They also offer day rooms at a higher price for the Royal Tower, which we booked. Our room was right by the slide and we were able to get back to it quickly. This day was one of the highlights for my kids and they talk about it all the time.

If I could get the Royal Towers I would go with that, most definately! They were very close to the pools and from what I have heard are much nicer. I spoke with several nice people by the pool who raved about them. I did not even know it was an option, which I am sure it was since the hotel was very empty.

right now online for one night at the royal towers is $430 if I booked thru expedia. what is the norm rate for a day room anyway?

dont know about atlantis, but we booked a room at comfort suites for 6/5/05 cruise for $160 with tax included.

i have a link to this cheaper rate if you need it? to check your
dates?

thanks. I'll keep trying but it says there isnt anything available for my date.

We paid $250 for our day room in the Royal Tower. Booking a day room was my only option as we are a family of 5. I called prior to leaving the ship and the call cost me about $12.

Does anyone know of any "800" numbers for either the Atlantis or Comfort Suites? Would like to check on pricing.

Other than the Atlantis site, does anyone know of a good web site that describes what there is to do at the Atlantis, including pricing for activities?

Many thanks....

By calling our Reservations Center -- (877) 424-6423 in the U.S. or Canada

this is for the comfort suites.

Ouch! Just called the Comfort Suites #. For the 5 of us they would only give us 2 rooms! Booking as a 4 in one room would cost us $240! Can't imagine what 5 would cost.

That leaves that option out... cost prohibitive!

Guess we won't be doing Atlantis water stuff.

We just got back from 9/30 wonder.

We had originally were thinking of doing the atlantis room thing but the ACTUAL atlantis website had notes on it that many of the pools we were interested in were closed for renovations, cleanup, whatever..... (lazy river, river pool, etc.)

We ended up on the Blue Lagoon Beach Day. The weather was great. The surf on the ocean side of the island looked a little rough. We had two kids with us so chose to swim in the lagoon. It was NICE.... We were one of the first tenders there in the morning so there were many good hammocks and tables to be had. It got a little more crowded as the day went on.

:( It wasn't CC but an acceptable day at the beach.
