This will be a mini trip report as I didn't do a diary this time.

Me - 50 year old who loves Disney and is the chief planner
DH - 50 something who suprised himself when he had such a good time in April at WDW.

Travelling with Thomas Cook Airlines
Staying at the Radisson Barcelo on International Drive

Day One

We arrived at Gatwick the night before to stay overnight at a hotel. Not as good as I had imagined for a 4 star hotel but I suppose we got it at a good rate. Down side is that there was only two pillows and they were so flat I reckoned they must have ironed the pillowcases whilst they were on the pillows. I thought about asking for more pillows until I realised you were charged for them so didn't bother. After a bad nights sleep (yes you were right we should have paid for the pillows) we got ready and headed over to Gatwick for check in and breakfast.

Arrived at Gatwick to find the check in open with a what seemed like a never ending queue until a nice chap came up and moved us to the priority check in, feeling smug because I thought we were being upgraded I was soon let down when I realised it was just a way of keeping the queues down  anyway a nice lady at the check in gave us the medical seats which have leg room (which we were going to be charged $60 each for when we requested them on the return journey). After checking in we had breakfast and before long we were in the boarding lounge ready for our flight which left at 13:30.

The flight I am glad to say was pretty uneventful and the cabin crew were excellent. DH watched a couple of movies and eventually we arrive at Sanford. Customs cleared and baggage collected we make our way to Orlando Carriers to transport us to the I-Drive. We are told to take a seat on the bench where it is nearly an hour before we board the coach. When we are on the coach we are told they are waiting for a couple more people and by this time I am tired and cranky and not best pleased. Finally we leave without them and arrive at our hotel and the time is now quarter to eleven at night US time.

We get the keys for our room which is on the 4th floor with an outside balcony walkround (yuk I hate heights). Inside the room I declare I hate the hotel, we should have gone back to the Rodeway International and I am not unpacking.. :rotfl: at which point I get myself undressed and into bed, DH having been married to me for 27 years knows when to say nothing and we both flake out. I get up about 2 am to use the toilet and being extemely 'out of it' plonk myself down to find the seat is broken and I bang my head on the corner of the open door as the seat moves away from the fixtures, luckily I am partly unconscious anyway from tiredness so go back to bed where DH advises me to be careful when using the loo as the seat is broken. I give him my best evil glare and a few choice words before I fall back into an unconscious state.

I will attach some photos in the next report

Day Two - A fixed Seat and Sea World

Hi cazzie, thanks for taking the time to write a trippie. Just a quick question, what was the name of the Hotel that you stopped in at the airport. I know it seems like you had a bad start but I know you had a fab time (I saw it on you 'We're back' thread). We once stayed in an iffy hotel (well it seemed like it on the first night), but that was our very first trip to WDW and it never put us off, things always seem worse when you're knackered. I'm looking forward to the next installment :sunny:

Thanks again

:sad1: :rotfl: It's amazing how things seem when you are tired.

The hotel at the airport was the Copthorne Effingham Park.

Should do some more reports tomorrow as I have to do the holiday ironing tonight.

Missed this first time around cazzie.
Although not good for you, DH's comments and the loo seat made me laugh :teeth:

Lovely start, a nightmare with that loo seat. My hubbie had a shock that first night after visiting the loo, he came face to face with a glowing red man in the mirror. Apparently he jumped that much he nearly hit the ceiling. The clown, red glow was from the iron light and it was his reflection. Anyway caused much merriment in the camp. :rotfl:

Not the best start to your holiday. I hope it got better.

Thanks for posting Cazzie, looking forward to reading more :)
