Didnt know it needed to be day before. I thought I'd read half hour but MDE keeps telling me to go to website and I don't see anything there either.

Yep...I haven't done the math, but isn't today the first day that those with FD beginning Nov 15 can make reservations?

It is. It's also the first day of the new FP+ booking period.

Sounds like POOR PLANNING to me. And I know IT poor planning!

You can pre-order at BoG from 30 days before your reservation all the way up to 5 minutes before you check in for your reservation.
