I arrive on a Sunday at about Noon. Don't want to spend and waste day in the park because I would only get half a day for full price.
I think I would like to go to eat at Planet Hollywood for dinner.

Is there anything else anyone could recommend to help us spend the day ?

Thanks
Ken

Here are some fun things we like to do on our non-park days:

Swim at the resort pool

Shop at Downtown Disney

Stroll around the Boardwalk - maybe rent a surrey bike

Play miniature golf at the course by the Swan/Dolphin

Ride the monorail around to the monorail resorts; look around the resorts and plan where we'd like to stay on future visits

I agree with Kaycee's suggestions. Shopping at DD is one of my favorite things to do. We have tried Planet Hollywood and personally, I liked Rain Forest better. It wasn't bad--my kids just preferred RF and it's right in DD. My kids liked the mini-golf as well. We've done the surrey bikes on the Boardwalk and it's a blast! There is plenty to do without going into the parks. Another suggestion--I've done this one--to make it seem like we are "at Disney"--I've booked a character meal/dinner at one of the resorts. My kids loved feeling like they were actually at WDW! There are so many options! We personally liked Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. You can then board the monorail or boats/busses and travel to the other resorts.

I like the character meal idea and have done that. Last year we did a little shopping and relaxing before going to the 7:15pm Hoop Dee Doo Review. My girls loved it and it really got them in the right spirit for the trip. They woke up the next morning raring to go and it really set the tone for the rest of the week.

these are good days to experience some of the non-park magic of disney....

character meals/ chef mickey's is always a great way to get in the disney spirit.
HDD or polynesian luau
downtown disney
disney quest
illuminations or wishes cruises
resort hopping
relaxing at the pool
riding the monorail is always pretty cool....tell the cm at the station that you want to ride in the front....way cool..
take a fishing excursion
If you have a car; drive off-proplerty and check out some of the non-disney attractions orlando and kissimmee have to offer.

I would love to do the fishing but I doubt my wife and kids would like that.
Ok based on responses it sounds like I should lean towards either

Downtown Disney
Chef Mickey
Hoop De Doo Revue

What are the prices for Chef Mickey and the HDD Revue and also if you had to pick one, which one would you recommend?

Thanks all for your advice
