Day of Arrival

I'm considering taking a flight that leaves at 8:40 p.m. CST on June 7 and arrives at Orlando at 12:20 a.m. EST on June 8. I know I'll have to pick up my bags from the airport before I get on magical express. My question is, does my resort reservation need to begin on June 7 or 8?

I believe the 7th. But note that it will be a late arrival.

I'm taking the same flight time for our trip in Jan and we have to have a hotel for the first night since checkin isn't until 3pm that day. we're staying off site at a hotel near the airport and then grabbing DME in the morning. HTH!

If you want a room available to you when you arrive at 12:20 am, you need to book your check-in date as June 7.

Resort "day" starts at something like 5 or 6AM; check-in is after 3, although sometimes a room is available earlier.

Were I you, and I am not, I would just book the MCO Hyatt for June 7, then hop Magical Express from MCO in the morning.

Why not just a value? That way your already on property - can have bellhop transfer luggage from AllStar to wherever OP is staying (or take Uber yourself to your resort)-- and head to the park first thing.

And almost certainly cheaper than the Hyatt.

Exactly. That Hyatt is $$$
Though it's worth checking, as I have seen their rates drop every once and a while. But most of the time, I can stay at a Disney Deluxe for less than the Hyatt. We always opt to book a Value room and just get on over to Disney vs. trying to do Hyatt, even when the rates are reasonable. It's just easier and Disney makes is so easy by moving our bags for us

Because I am arriving at 12:20 AM and I want to get to sleep. Hyatt is 10 minutes. An All-Star, I will not be in my room until 1:30 or later.

I am having luggage transferred from mco to my resort. My question is, can I pick up my luggage when it arrives at the resort? My flight arrives at 9:00, they are saying it may be midnight before it is delivered to my room, not fond of staying awake waiting.

Your luggage comes separately from the bus you are on, and there is no real way for you to pick it up on arrival. If you want your luggage, do not use the yellow tags and get it at the carousel before taking Magical Express.

This is exactly what I am doing for our midnight arrival on June 4th or technically 5th. Hitting the pillow in a matter of minutes was just the better option with 3 kids. I booked through hotels.com, & the rate is significantly cheaper than my deluxe stay at YC. Unfortunately I waited to book, & missed out on a $179 rate. It was just above $200 when I booked, with free cancellation, & pay at the hotel.
