Day of Arrival ADRs Y/N?

I would like to have dinner at Coral Reef at EPCOT the day of my arrival on 6/1. Right now I think I just want to cancel my current 7pm reservation, because I am worried about flight delays, etc.

Do you think it would be OK to walk up to Coral Reef, or should I keep the reservation? My flight comes in at 2:45 and I'm staying onsite at BC. TIA!

At what time would they consider me a no show?

There is no hard and fast rule about when you're considered a no show. Most places seem to give guests between 10 to 15 minutes before you'll be treated as a "walk-up". If you arrive after that, I don't know if that means they forgive the "no show" fee or you'd still be responsible because you were technically a no show for your ADR time.

If all goes well, I would think you'd make it from MCO to Coral Reef in four hours. The general rule of thumb is three hours from de-planing to walking into a park. I've gone both ways in terms of making arrival day ADRs. When I've had early morning direct flights, I've tended to be more willing to make an ADR. I've also just "winged" it and seen what was available when I landed.

It depends on how badly you want to eat at Coral Reef and how disappointed you'd be if they were not taking walk-ups. If the cost of the "no show fee" outweighs your desire to eat there, then forgo the ADR. If you want to eat there and are willing to risk/pay the no show fee, then keep the ADR.

This. :thumbsup2

Personally, I'm reluctant to book ADRs for arrival day after our last trip to Disney. We were delayed leaving our home airport, delayed during our layover, and then delayed again due to paperwork. We should've had roughly six hours between landing and our ADR, but it just didn't pan out for us.

My rule of thumb is also approximately 3 hours from arrival at MCO to walking into a park - usually Epcot since we stay at one of the Epcot resorts. With a 2:45 arrival you only have an hour of extra time so you definitely cannot afford any flight or travel delays. I agree that it depends on how badly you want to eat at Coral Reef since on another post you mentioned you are a family of 5. You can check online multiple times a day to see if a reservation for CR is available for another day. Try checking for 6 as well as 5 since sometimes the system has problems booking an odd numbered party. You'll need to include everyone for fire and safety code regulations so looking for a party of 4 won't work.

Thank you for the advice on booking 6 instead of 5. Since we will be at BC, we will be so close to Epcot that we could always book for later in the week, and then just cancel if we get to walk up our first night.

Thanks for the rules of thumb, too.
