Day 9 Saturday, May 7th
Our last full day at Disney.
Always bitter sweet. I feel like I want to cram as much magic and fun into that last day as humanly possible. This is also the time when we start thinking about when well be back.
Im sure you can all understand that feeling. The sooner you start planning your next trip the better you feel. As long as Ive got a countdown timer running on my computer desktop, no matter what the number of days, then Im happy.
We start our last day with a very special monorail ride to Epcot sitting in the front! Boy the kids were thrilled. Their eyes were soaking in everything that zoomed by, and they were ecstatic with their Monorail Licenses!
We took in a few attractions Spaceship Earth, Journey into Imagination, etc, then it was time for the Mothers Day Hero Brunch inside the Millennium Pavilion, right next to Canada and the UK in the World Showcase. We hadnt told the boys about it, so they had no idea where we were going. But the minute we walked into the pavilion they knew something big was going on. There were characters EVERYWHERE!! We saw Mickey, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Hercules, Beast, Prince Eric, Prince Charming, just about any Hero you could think of!
The boys were so excited they didnt even want to go into the brunch. LOL!! Here are a few pictures:
(for some reason our youngest was afraid of Hercules! LOL!!!!)
Once we finally got inside we were blown away by the amount of food offered!! And not just the amount but the quality it was really great. Probably the best meal weve ever had at WDW. (and weve had a lot of them!!) Here is a picture of the menu:
And here is a picture of the boys and I at our table. Im forcing a Mothers Day hug!!!
After we ate . And ate . And ate .
we headed back out to the picture area for a few more autographs and photos. Here is a favorite:
Im sure glad we got to experience this event. I really hope Disney starts having more character meals that appeal to boys. The princesses are great and all, but for our boys this was perfect!
Well, we spent the rest of the afternoon at Epcot just taking in the attractions and enjoying the Flower and Garden Festival. It was a nice way to spend our last day. We did end up heading back to the Poly in time for one last swim before dinner then it was back to the Magic Kingdom for the vacation finale!
We had dinner at Cinderellas Royal Table the meal was excellent then capped off the night with Spectromagic and Wishes. There is no better way to end a trip let me tell you. The only downside was the last boat back to Poly knowing we were going home.
Nine nights seems like such a long time when youre planning, but I swear time goes by so fast you feel like you just got there. I guess thats the sign of a great vacation and money well spent. Now, as I sit at home writing this report, I just smile thinking of the memories, the funny stories, the joy on the boys faces, the magic, and I wonder what life would be like without Disney. Whatever that might be I hope I never find out.
SEE YA REAL SOON!!!!!
