My first attempt at writing a trip report.....be patient with me.

Who: Diane (me) somewhere between 30 and 40
Mom if I wrote her age down, I wouldn't see tomorrow!
Dad 66 (gives you a clue on mom's age)
Where: Animal Kingdom Lodge
When: November 28 - December 8
Why: It's Christmas time!

Today's Plan: Parents - non park day. Me - taking the first bus to a park.

After the long and wet night last night, I sleep in to about 9:00am and laze around the room until about 11:30am. The forecast for today is for the temperature to drop throughout the day. Giving in to the cloudy, cold skies - I break down and finally wear a sweatshirt instead of a polo. I'm still in shorts though! I'd rather wear shorts and have wet legs, then wear jeans and have them get cold and wet.

Head to the bus station and the Magic Kingdom bus arrives within a minute. Guess I'm off to Magic Kingdom. I get to MK and a slight drizzle starts...yeah - maybe this will drive out some people. Once inside the park, I notice A LOT of tv camera stations....I ask and find out that they are going to tape the Christmas Parade tomorrow with Regis and Kelly. Now, I don't care about seeing Regis and Kelly, but hey - I can see the XMas parade now. I didn't purchase MVMCP tickets this year since the parade and shows are the same every year.

I walk through all the shops on Main Street, and saw a few things I would have bought if I didn't do so much shopping yesterday. I also hate shopping in the parks when I can get the AP discount on my purchases in Downtown Disney. Everything I saw that interested me is also available at DD, so I'll shop there on Sunday.

Well, my plan for the day is Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain...maybe some other stuff. I head back to Frontierland and get a Fast Pass for Big Thunder, and ride it since the wait is 5 minutes. The CM let me ride in the last seat and I had a great ride. I had lunch at Pecos Bill's (Chicken Wrap...so,so) and then head back to use my Fast Pass. Again, CM let's me sit in the last seat. I don't mind waiting for a train or two if I can sit in the back. The ride is faster back there.

After the second ride I decided to head over to EPCOT to see "Cast in Bronze" and do some Future World attractions that my parents won't do.

I hope the railroad around the park and when it gets to the next stop, I got off in Toon Town Faire, to walk through it and then head out of the park. I spy Goofy and Max and just had to say 'HI'. After that it is about 2:45 and I know that Cast In Bronze plays at 3:45 so I have a bit of time before I must be on my way to EPCOT. So off to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain. Posted wait is 10 minutes, I think I waited about 5. Ride was fabulous. After that, there is no wait for Buzz - so off I went....I'm proud to admit, I suck at video games...I'm a Planetary Pilot. I must have gotten lucky and hit something big....I usually am not that good. After Buzz, I head up for the Transit Authority and take a ride around the park. I notice the parade is underway and decide to ride Space Mountain one more time. Again, a great ride.

Somewhere between Toon Town Faire and Space Mountain I decided to forgoe the EPCOT trip. I chose to stay in MK and see if I can catch the Cinderella's Surprise show. I've got about an hour to kill before the show will start (weather permitting), so I'm off to Adventureland and a Dole Whip . Yes, it is 55 degrees out and I'm having a Dole Whip . They are good at any temperature! I decide to visit the Hall of Presidents (I need a nap). Show gets out about 10 minutes before the show starts so I head back over the bridge to the Castle. I'll admit my memory isn't very good at times, I think they have made some changes to the show since I saw it in March. There was a huge crowd, since I think this is the only time the show played today. (due to the weather). The show ends about 5:00pm and I decide to head back to Big Thunder Mountain for a ride or 2 before the fireworks. I get back and the posted wait is 15 minutes....oh no, I won't be able to ride more than once if I want to see the fireworks. I wait in line, ride the ride (again in the last seat) and when I get off, the wait is 5 minutes. It is 5:36pm and this is the last time I had to get in line for the ride for the rest of the night! My first trip was in the last seat, then when I returned no one was in the line to come in so the CM said I could go again (Thanks Josh!!!). When I got back into the station, there was someone in the last row so I had to get out. The CM let me ride in the row they were going to ride in, so I got right back on. When we got back in again (three times in a row), the CM announced that if no one was in line to your left, you could stay....of course, I stayed! This happened 3 more times. I got to ride 6 times without getting off the ride and saw the fireworks during the last 2 rides!

What a GREAT way to end a magical day at Disney! Big Thunder Mountain and Fireworks.

I was going to head over to EPCOT now, except since I know I'm going to be there for 11 hours tomorrow, I decided to make this an early night and head back to the resort.

My parents pictures turned out pretty well, especially the ones of Off Kilter! (The pictures of Beauty are good too if my friend is reading).

Tomorrow: Last full day here :( EPCOT and maybe another park.

Thanks for reading!
Diane
