Day Five (WOULD YOU LIKE A CUPA TEA?) May 25, 2004
Cast of Characters:
Me: MAGICinMYHEART/Beckie
Niece1: Katie
Niece2: Sydney
Sister: Susie
The morning was spent revisiting EPCOT so my sister could ride Mission Space with Katie also Sydneys first mission we enjoyed most of the attractions then around 12:30pmwe started back over to the MK area. We where able to ride in front on the Monorail to TTC where we boarded the Resort Monorail our plan was to have Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridians Garden View Lounge but we were early when the monorail stopped at the Polynesian we hopped off and did a little shopping I also remembered the Tambu Lounge and my favorite libation
a Lapu Lapu-Tropical fruit juices and Myers dark rum served a fresh pineapple topped with Bacardi 151. If you decide to partake in this particular concoction, DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. It packs a powerful kick.
My sister and I shared the drink, the girls were busy checking out the scenery when the CM made them a two Shirley Temple's. (they loved them)
My sister and I now had to walk...We managed to make it back to the Monorail then arrived at The Grand Floridian in time to look around and enjoy the beauty of this Grand Resort.
At 2:00pm we were shown to our table (next to the window overlooking the pool area) and Dottie our server explained about the Afternoon tea. We all loved the beautiful china service and ordered the Garden View Bouquet Tea- An unique mixture created by Harney and Sons exclusively for the Garden View Lounge. My sister and I had the: Buckingham Palace - Our traditional tea sandwiches, scones and jam tarts complimented by fresh strawberries and cream, or a selection of freshly baked pastries, along with your choice of tea. the girls ordered:Mrs. Potts Tea - For the younger tea lover in your party, we offer a variety of tea sandwiches, tuna salad, ham and cheese, peanut butter and jelly on white bread. We serve our magical dark tea (chocolate milk), followed by a choice of 2 pastries.
We enjoyed this special time so much, Aternoon tea at the Garden View Room will now be a must for every trip. Following are some photo's we took...* Several days before our vacation I called the Grand Floridian and had ordered two of the Cinderella's Slipper desserts for each of my nieces toward the end of our tea Dottie brought them out. Everyone at the tea thought they were beautiful as did the girls. (they ate them anyway)
MAGICinMYHEART/Beckie, Sydney, & Katie
We returned to The Wilderness Lodge because my Sister had to head for home (she called work and tried to extend her stay as she was having such a Great time) She has just been promoted to a new managers job, so she had to leave. (sniff-sniff)
I believe that we finally converted her to a Dinsney Fanatic she bought her first Florida Residents Seasonal Pass and has already asked when are we going back.
So after our good-bys she headed-out, leaving me with two nieces for the duration of our trip, that since our tea have been speaking with British accents??
They actually sounded just like two little Cockney Street urchins.
I have been to WDW so many times and thought I could handle anything at the MK. I was wrong, today the MK was opened until 10:00pm with SpectroMagic at 9:00pm. I decided we should jump on the boat and hop over to see the parade and maybe visit a few attractions. Very Bad Idea first we get on the boat and head for Ft. Wilderness Campground, then we arrive at the MK and Main Street is so crowded you couldn't even walk. I thought OK everyone is waiting for the parade so maybe some of the rides would be doable WRONGE the Park was so crowded it was just miserable we headed back to the Lodge. Had a early night, watched Wishes then to bed early.
