Today started with the boat to MGM. We walked through the front gates at 10AM. My husband refuses to get up early on vacation. We immediately went down Sunset Blvd. and got FastPasses for R&R and ToT. Both were due in 30 minutes so we went into B&B musical to wait. The timing was perfect, except by then the kids had chickened out of TOT. So Dennis went on the two rides alone and I took the kids shopping.
We met up about 45 minutes later and headed for lunch at Pizza Planet. We used our Connections vouchers here and got a decent deal. After the boys wanted to play in the arcade for awhile.
We then headed over to Muppet 3-D. I feel like this is the first time the kids really got the 3-D effect. They were amazed, reaching out for everything and laughing so hard. It made me really happy to see them having such a good time.
We then headed over to the Honey, I Shrunk The Kid Playground and played. They especially loved this!
After we went on the Backstage Tour featuring Catastrophe Canyon. The walk though was a little long, but the boys loved the ride and the simulated earthquake. This was the first time they had been on this attraction and thought it was real. We then headed towards the Indiana Jones Show and again the kids loved it. They were amazed at the fire and explosions!
We picked up frozen cokes on the way out of the park.
We took the boat back to the Beach Club. It was very hot that day. Dennis took Brandon for a nap and I took Ryan and Alex to the quiet pool to cool down a bit. The rest really helps get everyone reenergized. We walked over to EPCOT around 6PM for dinner.
I had really been excited about the Food and Wine Fest, but in reality it just wasn't as great as I was hoping for. I felt the whole deal was jut too expensive. We started out trying a few things, but at $3-$4 dollars for tiny sample, it was hard to get full. All was okay when I found the Fiesta Margurita stand outside Mexico though. They sold wonderful multi-flavor frozen drinks! The best deal we got was at the little McD's stand. I ordered 9 chicken nuggets for the kids for $3.99. The CM said I'm really sorry, but I only have 8 and it will be 5 minutes until any more are ready, would you like a few fries instead. I said sure, thinking it would just be about 10-15 fries thrown in the box. She gave me the biggest container of fries, it was super-super sized. So, the kids ate them all up!
We headed to Future World and wanted to get on The Land boat ride before it closed for the evening. We made it in the knick of time. The kids love this boat ride, especially the fish room with eels and alligators. The vegetables are always a big hit also.
We headed over to the Imagination ride. I had been out of the loop about this ride, so it was a big suprise that it changed at all. I absolutely loved it!! I loved that they brought the Imagination song back, there was just enough Figment! It was a really pleasant surprise.
We played in the Image Works for awhile and the headed back to the World Showcase.
We started at Mexico and shopped a bit. The kids always enjoy Mexico, esp. the candy!!
They really love the temple and volcano upon entering the ride. We made our way around the Showcase eating and drinking stopping at Germany for the train. The boys were so disappointed that the train wasn't running. This has been a favorite of the kids since they were toddlers. We stayed for Illuminations and then walked back to the hotel.
Next Up: AK and EPCOT
