Today it’s IOA and then back to Universal. We book the 10:30 shuttle from reception before breakfast at the Ponderosa.

Arriving at IOA we make for Spiderman another ride we didn’t do last time. I thought the walk through to the ride was well done but for some reason I thought it was a 3D movie so was quite surprised when I seen the cars. I wouldn’t sit in the front seat as I didn’t know what to expect so we sat in the middle. DH loved it and I must admit I quite enjoyed it too.

After this we walk over to Toon Lagoon and Popeye’s Bilge Rafts, now I know that you get soaked on this ride  and if you read my report for the previous day you will know that we spent the whole day drying off so this time we are wimping out as we have bought our plastic ponchos with us. I am not sorry either after seeing how wet everyone is. Loved this ride but we only did it once as we were starting to sweat under the plastic.

We sat and wrung out the water from our socks before having a walk around. I refuse to do ripsaw falls as I don’t like the look of the drop. We hear loads of sirens and turn around to see Spiderman and lots of other characters who I don’t recognise come past on bikes.

We walk around the Islands and make towards Jurassic Park. We go and ride the River Adventure and were lucky that there were not queues. I was a bit worried about the drop here but in actual fact I really enjoyed it and it didn’t seem as bad as Journey to Atlantis. I would have ridden it again but DH wanted to carry on walking around.

We go around the rest of the Islands before heading back to Universal and something to eat.

Back at Universal I have to go back and visit Donkey.

We then decide to go to Mel’s Diner for something to eat, this is definitely somewhere I would not recommend, it was tasteless and cold we both agreed we wouldn’t be going back there again.

DH decides he wants to go on the Revenge of the Mummy, aaaaaaaaaaah I have so been hoping we wouldn’t do this, when we arrive there is a 40 minute wait so we get an express pass. I am tired and hoping to get the coach back at 5 o’clock but the pass is for 4:20 but DH reckons we will be okay, ugh! We have a go on Twister but DH still isn’t impressed with it but I think it is pretty harmless although it does seem to take an age to walk through. After a walk around taking photos it’s time for the dreaded mummy. What can I say except NEVER EVER AGAIN. Once it went into the darkness and then started twisting that was it for me. We got off and the only consolation was that DH probably hated it more than me, :teeth: guess he’ll listen to me next time. They say that every picture tells a story and my face on the photo after the ride says it all DH wanted to buy it but I refused I never wanted to think of it again. So I give DH a look that says “I told you so” we make our way back (on wobbly legs) to the shuttle bus with an unwritten rule that the mummy would never be spoken of again.

After the usual rest we go out and eat before going to the Beltz Outlets where DH has to purchase me a couple of pairs of Birkenstocks as a penance for that ride. ;)

The Mummy is a great ride - another of my favourites. You made the right choice, avoiding Dudley Do-rights if you wanted to stay dry. We get soaked every single time we go on it.

I love the 'm' ride too though every time I went on it I got battered around a bit.

Thanks for posting your report Cazzie. Would you go back to Orlando again?

We are looking at maybe going back next May, I wouldn't go in September again though purely because of the heat, it was so hot even late at night and early in the morning. Waiting of the bus first thing we found ourselves trying to find shade to escape the heat.

We have been in February before and heat was from a nice summer's to a spring day here, quite pleasant.

I bought a pair of Birkies too! My DH was a bit under the weather that day (and the kids were fed up) so I bought one pair in the face of comments like "yuck" and "they are Soooooooo ugly!". Wouldn't you know, once summer hit the UK DH really wanted a pair for himself so we wnded up in Bluewater paying the same for microfibre that I paid for leather! :teeth:

Next time I'm buying more!!!
