Day before Thanksgiving at MCO

Ever fly home the day before Thanksgiving. We are staying Nov. 14-23 and we are kinda worried about the crowds and delays. What is your experiance. Will we be OK? Our flight is 6pm. Thanks!

We flew home on Mother's Day in May. I know not the same but the security lines took us about 30 minutes. It was the most crowded at MCO I had ever seen. Our car service picked us up 3 hours ahead instead of the usual 2. So definitely get to the airport a little early.

The only thing I would be concerned about is the possibility (probability?) of your flight being oversold. In that case I would arrive as early as possible to check in or check-in online. You might want to have a "Plan B" in case you are offered compensation to (voluntarily) give up your seats.

Make sure you check with your airline about possible weather delays or cancellations.

Thanks! We did early bird with SWA so hopefully we will be OK if they overbooked. We have already decided to celebrate Thanksgiving on Sunday (no kids so just another reason to get together and eat!) We are taking ME and that will be 3 hours before our flight. Keeping my fingers crossed
