Before we left the room this morning I set up some entertainment for the maid. Remember the two beanies I bought last night,well I put Pooh (dressed as butterfly) on top of the headboard and sat Tigger (dressed as grass hopper) on the bed looking up at Pooh, in Tiggers arms I put a note that said go on Pooh you can do it.
Arrived at Animal Kingdom at 8.55am and when we got in we headed straight for Kilimanjaro Safari. We only had a 2 minute wait. The Safari was fabulous and we were very surprised to see the lion up and walking around. The lion has never been awake when we have done the safari before, I always thought it was stuffed. At one point during our safari we were chased by an ostrich which was pretty funny. After the safari we did the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, we saw a couple of gorillas one of which was eating a banana.
Went over to Dinoland next and went to see Tarzan which was fabulous then we went on the Dinosaur ride which we had never done before, Tricia enjoyed it, I had my eyes closed throughout most of it. Bought some things in the shop at the end of the ride for my friends wee boy who is crazy about dinosaurs. When we came outside there were a few people crouched down looking at something on the ground. With me being a really nosey person I went to see what they were looking at. I turned to Tricia and said look how long this worm is, one of the group told me to look at the worms head, turns out it was a baby snake!!! Didnt hang around long but now I know a long worm with a big head is in fact a baby snake. After this shock we went to McDonalds for lunch.
After lunch I wanted to try and win a dinosaur so we went to the game where you have to roll the balls to get the mammoth to move. There were 9 of us playing and Tricia and I were neck and neck the whole time, I told her if she beat me I would have to kill her, not that I am competitive you understand, Tricia ignored my warnings but I won anyway, I am really good at this game, have won on it loads of times at other parks. Tricia came second. We decided to have another go, this time there was only myself and Tricia playing, Tricia won by a tusk.
We wanted to see the Lion King show so we headed off in that direction stopping to see Its Tough to be a Bug. This show is so funny, I love listening to the nervous laughter and screams. We were 20 minutes too early for the Festival of the Lion King show so we got some ice cream and I got Powerade. I was to become addicted to Powerade and was delighted to discover when I got home that they are now selling it in Asda. Hurray!!! The Lion King was brilliant, this is a must see for me on every trip. We left Animal Kingdom after a look round the shops. When we got back to the resort we found the beanies where I had left them but sitting next to Pooh were two towel birds with a sign saying We can fly, we can fly It was so funny. Our housekeepers at the CBR were brilliant.
Went down to my Jamaica beach too read some more of my Harry Potter book, we were also waiting for Judith (Bouncy) to say she had arrived in Florida, we are meeting her at 6.30pm for dinner. Her flight was due to land in Sanford at 12.30pm. When we went back to the room to get ready we still didnt have a message from Judith. Got ready and as we went to walk out the door the sky opened and dropped lots of raindrops, we knew at this point Judith had arrived and it appeared she had brought the Scottish weather with her. Decided I wouldnt need my sunglasses so put them away and put my poncho on and left for the bus stop. We got to the bus stop at 5.10pm and by 5.20pm the rain had stopped and the sun was really bright. I decided to run back to the room and get my sunglasses. Unfortunately I was wearing my new mules again and I couldnt run very well as I had to concentrate on keeping them on my feet. I was back at the bus stop within 5 minutes, Tricia said the bus hadnt come. The bus for Downtown Disney eventually arrived at 6.10pm and we arrived at Downtown Disney at 6.28pm. We were supposed to be meeting Judith and her DH Darren and her kids Melissa, Taylor and Ciaron at 6.30pm outside the Rainforest Café so I had to run in those blasted mules again, I looked like an out of control robot trying to keep the things on my feet.
When we got to the Rainforest Café we had a look around and there was no sign of Judith anywhere so we sat down on the wall, we assumed Judith was late cause she is late for everything. She was already inside, came out to get us at 6.40pm. I was really upset that I missed Darrens face when our party was called out because we had made our reservation under the name of Geddes (DixieAmoss name). Dinner was great and we had a great gossip. One thing that was good was that they understood my accent, okay so theyve known me for years but it was nice to speak at my regular speed and not have to slow down so people could understand me. After dinner we went to some of the shops with the Browns (Judith and family), they were walking very slowly but I let them off seeing as they had been up for almost 24hours what with the time difference. Showed Judith the trolley I wanted in World of Disney, wheeled it around the shop and then put it back on the shelf as I still couldnt decide whether or not I really needed it. Left the Browns at 8.45pm after making arrangements to meet them on Monday at Islands of Adventures. Judith is really looking forward to going to this park and riding Hulk with me! Got the bus to the Boardwalk and then the boat over to MGM. We rode Tower of Terror and were dropped first this time then we went to see Fantasmic again. I have seen this so many times I could play a part in it but it is a fantastic show and I love the finale, dont love how people get up to leave before it finishes.
When we got back to the room we didnt set a wake up call, decided to have a lie in tomorrow.
