I put a sad face here because I was truly sad that today was the day to leave.
I took my final solitary walk down the grey brick road for coffee. I really enjoyed staying at this resort.
We had put a lot of things together so it didn't take long to pack up our car and take one last look at our room. Joe made sure he dropped me off in the correct spot this time and I went in to check out. It was a breeze since everything was already paid for.
When I got out to the car James asked me if I had heard anyone calling his name. No, I didn't.
We got on the road, the wrong one and ended up going 192 east which was the wrong way. We headed back into the World. We tried again, this time missing our exit because it looked like there were two when there was only one. Here we go again, back into the World. "See," James said, "I told you that they didn't want me to leave!".
We did see the Pop Century Resort. Ugh, I won't be staying there.
We ended up taking another wrong turn and noticed that we were headed into Epcot. Luckily there was an exit for people like us to turn around.
We finally got on 192 West and headed out. I could feel the World tugging on me but just had to be quiet and take it. On Highway 27 we stopped and picked oranges and grapefruit to take home with us. This was a fun side trip and didn't take very long at all.
I won't go into all the details on our trip home but to say that we spent the night in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and arrived home in Texas about 3:00 the next day. The traffic sure picked up once we got to Texas and we ended up taking some side roads to get away from construction on I20.
Final Thoughts
We had a good trip. We were determined to take it easy and not go commando. We were still as tired though. We wanted to do things and eat places that we hadn't the first two times around. We wanted to make sure we went through the World Showcase which we had never done before. We wanted to see Fantasmic and the Osbourne Lights. We wanted to ride Test Track and the Rockin' Roller Coaster. We acheived most of our goals. Riding the monorail and visiting the Animal Kingdom Lodge will have to wait for another time.
Joe and James say that they will not be going back for a long time. We shall see. Joe said that in 1996 and now we have been back twice since then.
The weather was great. We have been during Spring Break, the first week of June and now Thanksgiving. I would like to come back at Christmas sometime.
Speaking of Christmas, it was strange to hear Christmas music and to see all of the decorations before Thanksgiving. It finally felt right on our last day there.
The Kidcot Stations are fun. I would have done one myself if Carol hadn't of done one. I did see one lady doing that. Some of the stations were hard to find.
I was glad we didn't spend a lot of time waiting to get pictures with the characters. Carol got quite a few pictures on the spur of the moment.
Our resort, POR, was just right for us. I have already posted a Dining and Resort review on the respective boards.
Here's to looking forward to another trip sometime.
