Oh no please don't let it be over....now is when you wish you had back to back cruises booked....I hate this feeling...knowing by the end of this day....I will have everyone packed...and our cabins will be someone elses tomorrow.

Friday, March 26th Castaway Cay Day!!!

The ocean and calmed and a beautiful morning has arrived to greet us at Castaway Cay. The boys are off for their excursion "The Wild Side"....we are moving slowly and are in no real hurry...I know there will be great lounge chairs out there somewhere....we elect to ride the tram this morning...it seems like there has been a delay letting people off today...because we took our time eating and getting ready and yet they have just opened it up for people to disembark and there was a line to get off....we watched everyone bound and determined to walk as fast as they could....no we are going to ride the 50 ft on the tram....I feel lazy and am not going to stress over anything this final day.....We find great chairs right in front of the restrooms/and everything else....we lather the girls up with sunscreen and off they go swimming and hunting shells. Bob and I never move out of our chairs...the servers bring us a conch kooler and then a pina colada....ah this is the life....could never get used to this...no way....I will miss it tomorrow...for sure. We had told the boys to meet us at Cookies at 1:00 after their excursion...we leave our chairs and stuff right on our chairs and take the girls to cookies for lunch and meet up with the boys....who then head off for the teen beach after lunch. Back for one more hour lounging and then I know I have 6 peoples belonging to pack up before dinner....I want to enjoy my final evening aboard the Magic.
We were back aboard at 3:30 and the kids went and did their own thing while I packed....I was finished at 5:00 and all bags were tagged and ready to go. The family dressed for our final dinner with Toar and Agus.....in Parrot Cay.....hugs, kisses, photos and tips. Oh I dislike goodbyes. Down to shutter for a final check on new photos. 10:15 all the characters were out for goodbyes. Ordered cookies and warm milk one last time. Oceaneers Club and Stack both gave out hats and shirts for all the kids....don't miss the last night show....and goodbyes.

It was an absolutely perfect week, weather wasn't even a concern. Our week couldn't have been any better...except for the awful grouchy woman at the Castaway Club party....she couldn't even ruin our trip. High points....Palo, mickey wake up call, cookies and milk, all the movies, the Clubs, Quiet Cove, Christoff, Toar, Agus, and Kenneth....the storm to beat all storms....those many magical moments that occur daily.

Weak points....6072 and 6074 are in need of new mattresses badly...I pointed this out on our suggestion form, the excellent speech made me uncomfortable twice. Food is not outstaning, it is fine and acceptable...but when you think of the numbers prepared....excellent is out of the question....though a nice goal for them to set but impossible. Palo....outstanding!!! Not to be missed. Shows are fine and fun....if you are tired don't feel bad missing them...sometimes a little rest on vacation is better. Having our laundry done daily....the way to go. I can do laundry the other 51 weeks in the year and for this one week....I don't need to worry about the laundry....Letting everyone go their own direction and do what interested them....priceless....everyone had a great vacation and did what they each wanted to do.

6:45 a.m. breakfast and we were off the magic and loaded in the RV by 7:50 a.m. driving to Iowa and we were home by 4:00 Sunday afternoon. I wouldn't change a thing...except maybe the mattresses.:sunny:

I'm all jetlagged so happy day to see you have finished your reports, something to read :teeth: ! You may be on to something about the chairs towards the back, closer to the drinks and servers. I loved our front row location but never saw a drink server, not once. I had planned on a Konk Kooler but didn't get around to hunting one down. Something for another trip. Thanks for taking the time to post your reports. I really enjoyed the cruise from your perspective. Interesting how things are with teens.

We did not get the excellent service speech from Roberto and Marin our wait team on the Magic. We have gotten the speech on other cruise lines. Roberto had the best "soft sell" approach ever. The first night, his first question was if anyone had food allergies. Then he asked if there things we liked or didn't like. And then he just simply said they wanted everything to be the way we wanted it, and to let them know if something wasn't right.
He never used the word exellent, and never harped on the subject again, he just went about making our trip a dream.
We felt welcome, and we were instantly comfortable with Roberto and Marin.
