Day 6 : What do you mean Im not getting collected here?
Had a long lie today, didnt get up until 8am. Had breakfast in the room, checked the safe was locked (didnt want a repeat of last years going to Belz drama) and at 9am we set off for our shopping spree at Belz Factory Outlets. Mears were picking us up at Customs House so we set off on the hike to get there. We were supposed to be collected at 9.30am, at 9.40am we were still waiting. I said to Tricia I was now convinced we were in the wrong place, she agreed and said she was going to phone Mears. So, with the face she had when she phoned Goodings on day 2, she headed into Custom House and telephoned Mears. The person on the phone said all pick ups (apart from the airport) are from Old Port Royale. Tricia said that was very nice but not what she was told, the man who took the booking said Discovery Cove pick up would be from OPR and Belz from Custom House. The person apologised for the mix up and said she would call the driver. When she came back on the phone she said the driver was still in the resort and would come round and pick us up. (I was like thank god because I was having a horrible vision of me trying to run from Customs House to Old Port Royale). We went outside and the driver was standing waiting for us. Into the van and off we went.
Arrived at Belz at 10.15am and the mission began. Didnt get off to a good start as the Calvin Klein shop seemed to be gone, well we couldnt find it, if it is still there please dont tell me. Shopped on speed and Tricia almost passed out when I bought a UK newspaper and paid $4 for it. I mean its hardly even a newspaper it was the Sun and costs 30p but it has good Big Brother updates and they never had the Daily Record. Stopped for lunch in the foodcourt and I read the newspaper, thought about taking it back and asking for my money back. I spent loads, bought 2 pairs of Sketchers, tracky bottoms, trousers, a few tops, perfume, suncream. Tricia bought a bag, shoes, water and Pringles. Armed with 11 bags we headed for the bus for our 2pm pick up. Once again I had more shopping than the family of four, happens every year. Mears dropped us off at Old Port Royale and I dragged my shopping over the bridge and back round to Jamaica only to discover housekeeping hadnt been. To make it worse she was hovering outside waiting to get in. Eventually she did the neighbouring rooms and she came back to us when we were leaving.
Got ready for Cirque du Soleil, I looked in the mirror and thought I was looking very tidy for me in Florida. Looked out the window only to discover the rain was torrential. Put on poncho and headed to the bus stop. What a sight I looked, would have been great on camcorder. I was wearing white ¾ length trousers so I had them pulled up to my knees so they wouldnt get any splashes on them, I had also put on my new Sketcher mules. I never wear mules so I had to concentrate on keeping them on my feet and avoid the puddles so as not to get them dirty.
We arrived at Downtown Disney at 4.30pm and went into Disney Quest so I could e-mail Bouncy who was leaving for Newcastle the next day. Had a nightmare time with the PC, wouldnt let me access my e-mail for some strange reason so I typed out a post for the DIS asking if someone could e-mail her on my behalf. I clicked on submit and I was told I wasnt logged in, which I had been, and I lost the post. Gave up at this point and decided to phone her as I had loads of change. When we got outside I found a phone under the stairs at Cirque. Dialled the number, put in $4 and then I got a message saying I had dialled an incorrect number and low and behold I lost all the money. Gave up on Bouncy and went to enjoy myself.
Climbed the stairs to the Cirque theatre, got coke and popcorn and went to our seats. We were in block 203, row AA. The CM who showed us to our seats was quite something. I dont know if she had just started or if she was trying to get fired but she was hopeless, sent most people to the wrong seats and then had to move them again. Just as the show was beginning I turned to Tricia and wished her a Merry Christmas. I had gotten her the ticket for Christmas 2002, she only had just over 6 months to wait. The show was amazing, I had sweaty hands and feet watching this. I dont know what else to say, it was way more than I was expecting, I would definitely see it again. Went into the shop after the show and I bought Flowersticks, thought I could try my hand at Circus skills. Tricia bought the La Nouba soundtrack and a keyring. We had planned on going to MGM to see Fantasmic but decided to go back to the Caribbean Beach to drop off my Flower sticks.
Got to the MGM at 8.45pm and were the only people on the bus on the way there. We went to Muppet Vision which was brilliant. Miss Piggy is so funny and reminds me of someone I know. Went on Tower of Terror and headed for Fantasmic. Returned to hotel about 11.25pm watched Everbody Loves Raymond and went to bed planning on Blizzard Beach and July 4th Celebrations at Epcot for tomorrow.
