Another early day to take advantage of the Magic Hour. We set off to MGM. DD and DH hit Tower of Terror and Rock N Rollercoaster. We did the new Animation show and Millionaire (I came in 9th!) But, back to food...
After the rides, we had a few pastries at Starring Rolls. Always tasty. (I had the strawberry shortcake. REALLY good!)
Had a PS for 12 at Sci Fi and was a bit early. Had to wait until about 12:15 to get in. DD loves the atmosphere, so this was a must do from last year. I had the kid's broiled chicken, DD had the kid's chicken fingers (not on the menu, but the waiter suggested it). Hubbie had a burger. We had milk shakes. The food was good, not great. (We have a Johnny Rockets near us and the food is much better there.) Service was ok. Seems like he forgot us for awhile. Overall, B- for food and B- for service. Atmosphere A. I think we won't do this one again, tho we've done all the other restaurants in MGM.
Din din at bluezoo. I must say, I have been researching the opening date and calling to get a PS for months. Where to begin...
The decor is really nice. Trendy, black with blue, has the underwater effects. Plates are shaped differently and add to the whole scene.
The menu is, of course, mostly fish/seafood. Well, my DD was not happy. (I explained that this was a fancy restaurant and since she wanted to join us, etc... Anyway, she pouted most of the night...) She ended up with the steak skewer appetizer, cheese fries and tempura beans. The last two were rather salty, but good.
We started with a shrimp cocktail to share. It had 4 large shrimps with several sauces. The presentation was lovely. Very artistic. Shrimp were huge, very huge. Tasty too.
We both had scallops. I had the shrimp sauce (really good with large pieces of shrimp). Hubbie had another sauce - can't remember. A small bit of mashed potatoes were under them. Again, nicely and artistically presented. We filled up on the beans and fries too. Only prob was that the entree cost $29 for 6 scallops. $5 per scallop. That seemed a bit steep for me.
We ended with a chocolate cake. I can't really describe it except that it had a malted chocolate sauce with a darker ring of chocolate and oozed more chocolate. Well, you get my drift... Pretty awesome.
I made the mistake of not asking if there were nuts in the cookies. Once the waitress brought them, I knew I was in trouble (allergic). She ended up bringing me the chocolate cake. Such a sacrifice!
Ok, the food was good. It IS trendy, really not for kids. It also was terribly expensive. About $180 for the 3 of us, and we didn't all have appetizers, etc.
Will it be popular? I have no doubt. Foodies will probably love it (the bar looked great). It was definitely not that busy (the buzz wasn't out, I guess). As the waitress said, it was only open 2 weeks and had some kinks to work out...
If you like meat, well, there was one steak dish and one chicken, otherwise it's all fish.
Food B+. Service B+/A-. The waitress was very nice trying to please my DD ("There is no pleasing her.") Atmosphere A-/A Return? Maybe without DD!!!!
To recap: we'd return for the Princess Breakfast and bluezoo. We've done the others and need to try new places. Hope you liked the reviews!

I leave for the World in 25 days (not that I'm counting or anything - LOL), and it's my first-night dinner. Whee!
