Day 4 MGM with friends
Cast : Myself (Johann
Dsis Tricia (ThumperThistle)
Got a wake up call this morning as we were meeting friends from home. Spending the day at MGM as they arent familiar with this park. The burning question is will I get Alison on Tower of Terror?
We had arranged to meet at 9am at the Information board. We got there just after 9am and Alison, Alistair, Callum and Rachel arrived at 9.10am. We headed straight to Tower of Terror to get fast passes, at this point it was planned that everyone would ride. They wanted to see Indiana Jones show that started at 10am. We headed in that direction and went on Star Tours first, there was only a 10 minute wait. Everyone enjoyed it (I think, didnt take notes) and headed for Indiana Jones. We all enjoyed this show, I love the extras they get from the audience, some are a real scream. When we left Indiana Jones it was time for our fast pass return. On the way to Tower of Terror myself and Alistair got a fast pass for Rock n Rollercoaster. As we neared the entrance to the Hollywood tower hotel Rachel decided she didnt want to ride (shes only 5). Alistair said he would sit out with her and the rest of us went on. Callum took my hand in the basement and nearly crushed my fingers and he was soaking with sweat, the poor soul was terrified but determined he was going on. When we got into the elevator he said it was a bit scary so I told him I would tell him when we were going to drop. When we did he screamed and then laughed and laughed. Alison laughed hysterically and said it was brilliant. Callum said it was one of his favourite rides but he didnt want to ride again with his dad so I did. I love Tower of Terror. When we came of ToT we went to meet the others who had gone off to try out the interactive stuff in Mickeys hat. We went to Muppets and walked straight in, another of my favourites here and the children really enjoyed this. When we came out Alistair and I went to ride Rock n Rollercoaster the others went to the playground and Tricia got us fast passes for Millionairre. I loved Rock n Rollercoaster as usual, it was so nice to have someone to ride with, that was a first for me, Tricia wont do it so Ive always went on my own.
While we were having lunch the rain started, it didnt stay long but the poncho did get an airing. After lunch we went to the Millionairre show. Callum disappointed he didnt get in the hot seat. The thing is I believe he could have went all the way to $1million. He is one smart 7 year old!!! He knows more than me. Next we went to Playhouse Disney, Rachels choice. When we entered the CMs were telling you to sit in rows, so we joined a row, sat down and crossed our legs and I felt like I was at work. All I can say about this show is I am glad I do not have to watch Bear in the big blue house and Rolie Polie Olie. Rachel enjoyed it and the children round about responded well. Callum was to cool for this!!!! Went to see Hunchback, it had already started but we did manage to sit on the wall at the ride. Im glad I had seen the show before because the view was restricted. After this we stopped for a drink and a snack then we went our separate ways. I wanted a good spot for the parade so I could video it without any heads etc. in the way, our friends headed off to Little Mermaid. Had a great time with them and hopefully they enjoyed their time with us.
At 5.30pm the Disney Stars and Motor Cars parade began and I have to say this turned out to be my favourite parade. It was brilliant, loads of characters and I loved the way the cars were done up to relate to the film. Cruella was on top form and was screaming at people on the parade route.
After the parade we got the boat to Epcot. Entered through International Gateway and went into the UK shop to get some chocolate. I eventually chose a Bounty and Tricia had a Galaxy. I was reluctant to eat it seeing as it cost $1.88 (before tax)!!!!!!!! I felt at that price I should take it home and frame it but it was starting to melt so I ate it and enjoyed it. Saw the British Invasion and had my first taste of camcorder rage. Why oh why when there is loads of space do people have to stop right in front of my camcorder??? Went on a gentle stroll round to Italy and found a spot for Illuminations. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Love Illuminations and got it on video without any trees hanging from above. Cool!
Walked slowly to bus stop and waited a few minutes for the bus to arrive. Got a seat which was just as well because my legs were starting to sieze. The Brazil tour group on the bus had a sing song. To start with it was nice but then all the songs started to sound the same and they got louder and louder and I reallly just wanted them to shut up. When we got back to hotel we went to Guest Services to get tickets for tomorrows e-night. Ken served us, he was very nice but he .was .so ..slow ! Re-filled our mugs returned to room and collapsed. Dont know what is happening tomorrow and to tired to look and see. Goodnight.
