Day 4 - Animal Kingdom - Feb 23
Was going to go strait to Animal Kingdom this morning. But I am meeting up with a friend of mine this morning, who works for Disney. He is nice enough to pick up some of my Disney Pins for me, so I was picking up some of them from him. This took longer than I thought, so I didn't make it to AK until 12 noon.
Well, my hopes of the crowds leaving the area after Prez weekend, did not come true. The place was packed! Some of the wait times were around 40 minutes to 1 hour. The only thing that didn't have a long wait time was Prime Evil Whirl. Got to see Donald and Daisy in thier little Dinosaur out fits, they are really cute.
Was able to do some major pin trading with some cast members. Almost went though my whol lot of tradebles that I brought with me on this trip. Have to go through them just to make sure that I really want the ones that I have so far.
At around 4 pm, I headed out to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, we will be having dinner at Boma tonight. We were able to get in a little earlier than my PS time. This place is wonderful. It got busy fast. They have a little bit of every thing, and not every thing on the buffet is from Africa. They had prim rib (thought I didn't care for it) salmon and chicken. As well as some items from Africa, the one thing that really stands out was the FUFU (sp?) we think it was a sweet potato dish, with a little something added. Then they had a really great seafood gumbo, that I wish I had remebered to ask for the recipe for. I'm sure I will find it some where. If this is a place that you are thinking about doing on your next trip, do it.
After dinner we headed back to the hotel. And got a great treat. We were able to see the fireworks from both the Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. And then at midnight we got to see the fireworks from Pleasure Island. What a great way to end the day.
