Monday 15th March Busch Gardens

The Cast: Me 30 something total planner for holiday
DW 30 something likes a quiet life
DD 13 going on 21 total poser has an answer for everything
DS 10 nearly 11 loves soccer and winding us up
We where all up today early about 7.15 am after showering and getting ready we went over to city walk to buy breakfast to go a couple of cinnabon’s and chocolate milk & apple juice to go $14 and off we went to bus parking garage for our pick up this was our first time going to BG we used the free transport they provide we where not prepared for the length of journey nearly 2 hours it took we got picked up at 8.30 am then to Mercado to pick up others then to BG we got there about 10.30 am and it was now raining we where prepared for the rain as I had checked the weather channel our bus driver assured us it wouldn’t last, he was pretty annoying as I knew he was just saying that to try to get more of a tip as the weather channel had predicted next two days of rain it was still warm though when we got off at BG we showed our DC letter we where sent to 3 different locations before eventually getting sent to guest services was not turning out a good day I was pretty annoyed with BG staff as they did not seem to have a clue at the gates and no one was manning the DC booth at all we eventually got into park abut 11.00 am we did all the rides except scorpion which was closed the rides where good the animals excellent as where the entertainers we had lunch Sahara snacks couple of combos to share and soft drinks $21.36 we also saw the haunted lighthouse show it was funny and good similar to shrek after that the rest of the gang got 3 large banana split waffle cones $12.17 very good value they where massive I thought I deserved a beer now so of we went to the hospitality house it was raining pretty much from 3 pm –5 pm constantly but overall we did enjoy day only disappointment with park was Rhino Rally closed due to technical problems we bought some nice gifts for ourselves overall we all agreed we where glad we came but the bus journey is just not worth it we got back to universal about 7.45 pm and that was a 5 pm return journey if u have your own transport I bet the park is a lot better to enjoy just not worth the travel time otherwise that evening we where all feeling shattered but we still changed for city walk but as we waited for the boat the rain started again so we opted to dine at the islands it was pretty empty this was the norm over the 2 weeks we where there I had the chicken Quesollida, DW had beef & veg stir fry & kids had two buffets I had 2 bud drafts kids had soft drinks and wife had a cpt jakes air raid total before tip $56.73 the food was excellent and plenty of it so after a very trying and stressful day at times it ended pretty well we where all in bed for 11.00 am tomorrow is boys day & girls day me & son getting picked up at 8 am for KSC trip more to follow
