Today was day we scheduled for MGM. Started off with breakfast at the Roaring Forks (Wilderness Lodge). Quick and relatively inexpensive and then off to MGM. We again choose to take the car and drove over which was a great option as we stayed the day and left after Fantasmic show. Started the day walking right onto Star Wars attraction and then off to Indiana Jones Show. Quickly headed to Muppet 3D which DD 7 loved, couldn't stop laughing. Next went on Backlot tour, quick wait. Believe we probably caught the tail end of Easter break and that saved us from the big crowds. Grabbed fast passes for Millionaire after this and headed for lunch. Found lunch lines to be extremely long and staffing inadequate. Next over to Beauty and Beast. They changed this show since we've last seen it. Miss the doves at the end and the overall show seemed shorter. Next off to Millionaire, was surprised how much we really enjoyed this. Even DD 7 enjoyed playing along. The little Mermaid was our next stop.
Again they changed this show since we've last seen it and it too seemed shorter and not quite as good.

Got out in time to catch the parade and then off to Brown Derby and Fantasmic Dinner Package. Waiter allowed my DD 14, who is a picky eater to also order off the children's menu. Quite a good deal. The girls loved their glow in the dark ice cubes and lemonade. Had some extra time so we headed to Drew Carey Sounds Show. Very, very funny. Next to Fantasmic, even though we had the package we arrived 45 minutes early. Good thing we did, it's amazing how quickly that arena filled up. First time seeing this show and we all LOVED it! Glad we brought car however, got out of MGM very quickly and back to Wilderness Lodge in less than 15 minutes.

Hi there...

Sounds like an amazing trip so far.... question about Millionaire - was it okay for the kids or did they get bored?

Also - what are the glow in the dark ice cubes?

Thanx

Back to the WL from MGM after Fantastmic in 15 minutes? That must be some record! ;)

The glow in the dark ice cubes are included in a kids' specialty lemonade drink served at the Brown Derby. They are activated and shut off by hitting them against a hard surface. The drink arrives at the table with the ice cube and it's a glowing orange color. My kids DD 7, DD 14 and DS 16 were entertained by Millionaire. Everyone in audience plays along on your own keypad and this kept them entertained. Host was very funny and they constantly scan audience and put images up on screen.

great report. sounds like a wonderful trip. going in october. can't wait. if you drive to the parks are you closer to the entrances than the shuttles from the hotels park. thank you for any info.

No, you're further away than where buses leave you off. However, at Animal Kingdom we arrived early and it was a very manageable walk. At MGM we didn't arrive till 10:30 and parking lot was further away. However, the trams run quite frequently through the parking lots and it was very convenient. We choose to use car the day we visited Animal Kingdom because we had an early character breakfast and CM at Wilderness Lodge had advised us to be at bus stop no later than 7:10 AM for character breakfast bus. Driving we were able to leave at 7:45 and easily made our 8:20 breakfast reservations.
