Day 2 started early with the famous Mickey Mouse wake up call. I wish I could wake up like that at home. We had purchased milk and cereal for the room so we could save on breakfast. Unfortunately, the refrigerator was turned up way too high and our milk was more like ice cream than a liquid. We made due with 2 small bowls of mostly dry cereal and we were off to Epcot, our favorite park. Just a little background, Epcot is special to us because we got in engaged there back in July plus Spaceship Earth is our favorite attraction.

The walk to Epcot from Boardwalk is quite enjoyable; everyone you run into has a smile on his or her face in anticipation of a wonderful day at Disney. It is also very cool to walk through England and Canada before any of the other guests arrive. We got to snap some cool picture without having to worry about someone walking in front of the camera. First stop was Test Track to pick up a fast pass; the line was already pretty long. With fast pass in hand we headed over to Universe of Energy. I like the most recent version of this attraction, but I actually miss the music from the old one. Oh well, I guess the infusion of comedy and education won over the majority. Our plan was to go on Spaceship earth after this, but we ended up in the Land for a second breakfast instead because the line was too long. We really needed that recharge; the tiny bowls of cereal did not cut it. The line to the boat ride was already pretty long, and from past experience, I know it moves slow. We did sign up for the Behind the Seeds tour though which would take place later on that afternoon. It wasn’t quite time for our fast pass yet, so we went on the new Journey into Imagination. I have mixed feelings about this attraction. I loved the first version and did not really care for the second. This third version is a merging of one and two and is just all right. I would probably really enjoy it if I never experienced the original. It is a shame they don’t use the second floor for anything anymore. It was cool climbing up into the glass pyramids. After the ride, the Kodak image works area was a zoo as usual so we just walked through. Next stop was finally Test Track and it did not disappoint. I love this ride, I just wish the line wasn’t always so long. They have a new exhibit at the end of the attraction, but it was too crowded for our tastes so we just walked through and checked out some of the new cars they have. I really wish we could have sat in the new H2 Hummer, I guess they don’t want our fingerprints all over their precious vehicle. It was almost lunchtime by now so we started to walk slowly to Mexico even though we weren’t very hungry. That late second breakfast did us in. We had a small meal at the San Angel Inn and did the boat ride and checked out the glass store. I am always fascinated how they twist and mold the glass into such beautiful sculptures. After Mexico, we did a lap around the lagoon. We were pretty disappointed that Norway’s boat ride was closed, but did not dwell on the feeling. We were in Disney after all. I was also bummed that Japan was renovating their store, that is by far my favorite shop in all the countries and it was closed. There is another reason to return to Disney sooner than later. We walked through the countries hand and hand recalling how we got engaged a couple of months previous. It was pretty magical seeing the fountain in France where I got on one knee. As if we did not like this place enough, I had to go give it more meaning. The only attraction we did in the countries was the movie of Canada. Neither of us had seen it before, so it was about time. After watching the 360-degree presentation, we both wanted to take a trip up North. I guess that was the point, good job Canadian tourism bureau. Now we were determined to ride Spaceship Earth, when we got to the front of the park there was no line at all and we walked on. For some reason that attraction just does it for us, we really know we are in a special place while riding it. We giddily exited the attraction making fun of the voice that screams in your ear about the “New Global Neighborhood.” After such a calm ride, I think they want to make sure people are still awake. Next stop was our “Behind the Seeds Tour.” Our tour guide was an intern from the University of Indiana, must be nice, I wish I got to work in Disney when I was in college. Our group had some hearty gardeners in its midst so there were lots of informative questions. The tour was interesting without being over-saturated with details. My favorite part was the fish farms because I got to feed the Talapia and have them splash everyone as soon as the food hit the water. It was great fun; I did not want to see any more plants after getting to play with the fish. They have a little alligator farm in there too which gives you good opportunity for some cool pictures with the descendants of dinosaurs. After the tour, it wasn’t quite dinnertime so we hit innoventions and played some cool video games. I built a wacky rollercoaster that would have even made me a little nervous to experience. All that fun started our stomachs growling and we headed back towards Boardwalk for dinner. For some reason I thought our PS was for 5:00, but Flying Fish did not open to 5:30. This left us with about 35 minutes to kill, so we decided to take one of the surrey bikes for a spin. We ended up doing 5 laps in about 25 minutes; we even had a jogger cheering us on every time we sped by. Unfortunately, we were both a little sweaty and tired afterwards, but at least we won’t feel guilty about eating the desert. Dinner was amazing, see my review for more info.

It was now time to get ready for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I had planned on being a vampire and Kristen being my victim. Let me tell you those theatrical fangs are harder to use than the package leads you to believe. Between that and my special effects contact lenses, we were a little late. Neither of our costumes was obvious, so we walked out of the hotel without any pointing fingers. The valet did comment to me, “Nice teeth.” We were meeting my mom and brother in the Magic Kingdom for the festivities and they were already there. The place was packed, we both really liked the theming and the spotlights on Main Street, but it was so crowded that we could not look around that much. However, almost all the attractions were walk on so we did just about everything. I really enjoyed Thunder Mt in the dark. Oh, my mom and brother both dressed up too. My brother was a tourist with a funny hat and binoculars and my mom was a phantom woman all dressed in white. We were quite the site walking around the parks. We did not see the parade, but did catch the fireworks after exiting Space Mountain. Besides the candy that we waited in line for like the rest of the “kids,” our highlight was the jungle cruise. Behind us in line was a gentlemen dressed up as Mickey who also appeared to be a comedian. He kept us laughing until we boarded our boat. I wish I remember some of his jokes, but they might be too racey for this board. The boat ride was incredible, but not because of the attraction, we had the most sarcastic, funny captain ever. From telling jokes, to singing Willy Wonka tunes he had us in stitches the whole ride. It was getting late by then and my brother and mom called it a night and we made one last sweep of the candy lines and headed “home” too.

It was a great, but very long day.
