Brunch was fabulous at Palo - Beth A made the reservations for several of us DIScruisers along with her own family - so we had the private dining area!!!! Carol and Denny were seated next to us, Bob and Ruth Ann next to them and then Beth's family - there was no lack of conversation as we all enjoyed each others company immensely! Come to find out there was a connection between Beth's family and a Marine friend of Bob's! Small world indeed!
Food - food and more food! I have always loved the Palo brunch and this was no exception. The antipasto assortment brings me back to my days in Italy and I had my fill also of the shrimp and crab legs!!! We docked during brunch and it was nice to get off the boat and be able to still walk!
Key West.....Mel Fisher's treasure collection was a MUST for Tom and we did enjoy it. They offer a military discount so be sure to ask for it! For 2 adults and 1 child, it was $19.00 - steep, but still if you are into this sort of thing - it's interesting.
We walked Duval Street.....our doctor's brother lives in Key West and we planned to meet him....okay, so guess who doesn't have his number and guess whose phone is unlisted! Scratch that plan!
Walk and walk and finally find Jimmy Buffet's place - got a pin and shirt for galpal here and did have that drink...skipped the "cheeseburger in Paradise"...too much shrimp still in my belly!
Walk and walk and Michael started "konking out"....(little pun there!) so I end up carrying him that last mile to the ship....don't you ever tell me that 60 lbs of fat is good for anyone because carrying a 60 pound kid was .....well, you get the picture!!!!!!!
Back to the air conditioning of the ship, Michael heads to the pool with Tom and I catch the horseracing on the TV. Hey, gotta have my horsey fix!
Dueling Pianos again was fabulous - you will hear that said a number of times in a variety of ways during all my trip reports!!!!
Suffice it now to say that we attended EVERY DUELING PIANO FAMILY SHOW and 3 out of 6 of the Adult Dueling Piano shows - only missing ones when Michael had an asthma attack, or when he just felt too tired to go to the Oceaneer's Lab.
But the Fidelio Fan Club was proudly represented at each of the shows by the new reigning president Regina and usually a nice group of other DISers!
Dinner - delicious! We have now decided to let Alex order for us and believe me we, as a table of six, could feed a small country with our meals! Just can't believe how good everything tastes!!!
We certainly need to think about some sort of exercise during this cruise because I don't think we are going to make it to Saturday morning with the clothes we have planned to return home in!!!!!!!!!
