Day 2..Can't Connect

I hope someone can help me, I can't connect to VMK. I thought yesterday maybe the servers were just too busy, so I tried a few times thru out the day/night.

Yesterday I removed vmkpal and shockwave and reinstalled. Still had the same errors. I tried firefox and still nothing. IDK what the problem is.

Firewall has all 3 of the above added to the exceptions list.
Worked perfect Saturday, any suggestions?

I have been getting those same messages from IE and VMKpal for about three days now. Keep trying to log in at different times because it seems to be an "on again, off again" thing. I was able to log in a few times yesterday, but not everytime i tried.

Actually, she should just contact CloiePooh and have her ask her PC tech husband how to fix it. I hear that guy is pretty smart.

Well smartypants, Now TWO of my favorite VMK'ers are not able to get on!

He told me yesterday and again today, "pick it out and I will go get it". Our deal was Xmas of 08, he's not ready to hear me complain about Vista. That load of laundry was done the NEXT day. lol

first off, remove VMK pal and leave it off, you do not want to bother with it until you can get VMK running again.

2nd, remove shockwave and flash using the instructions on the adobe.com homepage (just search "remove shockwave" and "remove flash")

once you have done that, go to download.com and find and install "spybot search & destroy" - update it, run it and clean anything it finds.

If you have norton or MacAfee, now would be a good time to remove it as well and install "Avast!" (also from download.com)

once you have done all of that, install first shockwave, then flash from the adobe homepage and try VMK again.

Also, you will want to be sure that you have at least 3 GB of space left on your hard drive, if you do not, nothing will work right.

Thanks Blue. Do you ever feel like a broken record? It seems you are always trying to tell us this every time we have trouble but we don't write it down. LOL. I printed it out this time so I shouldn't have trouble for at least a few days.

Some people do not right it down, other have different opinions on it, and some others simply cannot work on their PC (work or parents computer) - but I really do wish aengus would sticky it somewhere!

I read it as "We went to the disney home page and tried to launch VMK from there but got the same error"

As a tech, I am really a language translator as well. I have to listen to "broken Tech-ish" all day

Seriously, do not come into a thread where people are asking for tech advice, tell someone with 20 years of experience that they are wrong and then not say how it worked for you.

I asked you twice how, you wont answer. You would rather tell me I am wrong instead of offering your own solution.

You ever get driving directions from someone? They tell you how to get there and it works just fine, but someone else gives different directions and they work just fine too. Why would I not care how you fixed it? Maybe my way does not work for them, although it should in most cases, it does not always. Why do you have to be so derogatory about it?

The problem is I dont like to fix someone computer's problem when I am not in front of the computer but if you look at the source of the VMK page where you log in you will see

Why dont we stop fighting about it and HELP the ppl who are asking for help getting on VMK

Kasiks, if YOUR solution worked as well (or better)as the one that mtlhddoc suggested maybe you can share it with the rest of us in this thread so people have more options to try if for some reason mtlhddoc's steps dont seem to work.
