Day 2 saw us opt for breakfast at Tritons. By coincidence, Laurie happened to be our assistant server there too. Food was excellent. I opted for the waffle & DH for the express breakfast. Upon leaving, immediately joined the queue for the princess gathering in the atrium at 8.45. We arrived before the start time & still waited for a good 30 minutes once the princess (Cinderella, Belle, Mulan, Aurora & Alice) arrived. The ship’s photographers were present, but the photos were not of a great quality – most ended up with dark shadows around their outline, so we purchased none of them.

Checked DD into the club & let them know we would be off ship until noon. Left the ship for a self guided walking tour of Nassau that was enjoyable. I’m pleased we set off early, as it was a very hot day. Nassau was very busy with 5 other cruise ships in port that day as well as the wonder. Managed to avoid the hawkers (which weren’t as bad as I had feared – have you ever “cruised” from Cyprus to Egypt?).

On return to the ship ate a light lunch outside at the Beach blanket buffet (tuna wraps & chocolate chip cookies), before checking on DD. She was completely oblivious to our presence (busy cooking cookies at the time), so we slipped away to enjoy a dip, relax and read of our books at the adult pool. At 3.30 it was off for our tour of the bridge, conducted by Rob. In great British tradition, if he wasn’t sure, he bluffed it or called it a thingamajig! The tour was informative and full of humour (including a VHS radio!).

Collected DD from the club for dinner at Tritons where I opted for the deep fried Camembert and four-cheese pasta – both excellent. I had the soufflé for pudding, but it was just too rich for me to eat more than a few mouthfuls. DH had requested a chicken curry the previous evening, which was duly made & demolished! DD had macaroni & cheese & Laurie put the ketchup on a plate in the shape of a Mickey (DD was impressed).

After dinner we had our formal photos taken in front of the ship backdrops, and with Minnie & Mickey. DD traded a couple of pins before heading back to the kids club & we headed off to the Golden Mickeys. Although I enjoyed the show, I felt it was a bit disjointed and didn’t flow as well as the other two shows on board. Collected DD from the club (she was watching Toy Story) and headed up to deck 9 for the tropical party. The staff were laying out the buffet (not open until 11pm) and the dancing was well underway, however DD was very tired, so we headed back to see what Weekly had created. Tonight’s towel animal was an elephant wearing my sunglasses!
