Up at 7am, had breakfast, got ready and were down at Old Port Royale for 8.20am. The bus was due to pick us up for Island of Adventures at 8.35am. We are meeting friends of ours today. Judith (Bouncy on the DIS) her husband Darren and her three kids Melissa (14), Taylor(10) and Ciaron (6). The plan is that Tricia will take Taylor and Ciaron off to Seuss Landings while the rest of us do some of the big rides.
The bus arrives at 8.45am, we are supposed to be meeting the Browns at 9am. We arrived at 9.15am and they were waiting for us at the top of the escalators. Started the walk along to IOA and I mentioned to Judith about the things I thought we could buy for Wednesday, she thought it was a great idea so I said I would get them tonight or tomorrow. Turned round to laugh at Darren as we have been really winding him up about our planned day at MGM and discover he is miles away. We tell Judith we will go on ahead and buy or tickets and meet her inside the park. Line for tickets isnt that long but moves very slowly.
Once in the park we arrange to meet Tricia and the two wee ones at 10.30am outside the exit of Hulk and then change this to outside Spiderman and we head over to Hulk. Well, Judiths face was priceless, she looked at Hulk like it was a fate worse then death. Went to get a locker and then joined the queue, Judiths nervousness made this line a breeze for me, I couldnt stop laughing. As we neared the front of the line we decided that Darren and Melissa should sit in the outside seats so they could get a better view (okay, so me and Judith refused to sit in them). This ride was a blast, absolutely brilliant. Got off laughing our heads off and went to see the picture. It was a good one and we all had our eyes open and looked happy so we decided to buy it. Went back to get our stuff out the locker so we could pay for it and the fun began. The scanner wouldnt accept Judiths finger, maybe it had been so traumatised her fingerprint had changed. Fifteen minutes later the locker finally opened and we went and bought the pictures. Got outside the ride at 10.15am and sat on the wall to wait for the others. At 10.30pm I remembered that we had changed our plans and were meeting at Spiderman, however by this point Darren and Melissa had wandered off. Once we found them we headed off for Spiderman and found Tricia, Taylor and Ciaron coming towards us. The line was Spiderman was 90 minutes so we got the Express thing. Our return time was 5.40pm.
Started to head for Jurassic Park when Taylor and Ciaron spotted some characters. Tricia waited with them and we went to Jurassic park were we walked straight on. We could have had the front row but Judith refused point blank to get in it. Everyone enjoyed this, the drop wasnt as bad as I had remembered it to be. Judith thought that the two wee ones would enjoy this and asked them when we got off if they wanted to try it. Taylor said she would but Ciaron had a fit because Tricia had told him she didnt like it because it was scary and he trusts Tricias judgement on rides. Taylor enjoyed the ride though she looked terrified throughout, especially when we told her we were going the wrong way. When we came off Taylor wanted the photo to prove to everyone she had been on, she was very proud of herself.
Had lunch in the place next to Jurassic Park. Me and Tricia shared, Judith and Darren shared, Taylor and Ciaron shared and Melissa had some soup all to herself, we did get individual drinks.
During lunch we decided it was time to get very wet so we were going to do Ripsaw Falls and then Popeye barge thing. When we got round to Ripsaw Falls Taylor decided against riding. Ciaron refused because Tricia wasnt going on it. The line took 45 minutes to get through and Melissa met friends from school while we were waiting. The big debate of who was sitting where took place about 10 minutes before we got on. Judith lost and was allocated the front seat, I was behind her then Mel and then Darwin. We got on and I couldnt find the hand rail, Mel had to show me where it was. I jokingly said to Judith that the way she was sitting I thought she might catapult out the log when we went over the first drop. She turned round looking horrified and asked will I? Once reassured that I was joking she returned to normal colour. We were soaked to the skin on this ride, it was brilliant. Got the others and went to join the queue for Popeye. Ciaron was happy to try this because Tricia was going on. We all enjoyed this, even Ciaron. Taylor hardly got a splash, couldnt believe it. Ciaron and Taylor played on the boat thing when we came off while the rest of us dried off in the sunshine.
Headed to Duelling Dragons next. The wait time wasnt long but it took us ages to get through the queue area. During the long walk to the front of the line Judith and Darwin suggested we maybe just give it a miss. I was starting to think that might be a good idea when Melissa said she really wanted to do it so I just said, Come on well love it and we can say weve done it. We continued on through the queue area when Judith starts shouting, Its broke down, OMG its broke down. When we finally pulled ourselves together we realised fire had stopped at the top of the hill to wait for ice!!! Got into the area where the queue splits for the separate tracks and Judith starts shouting again that she isnt going in the front row. We finally got into the correct line and are waiting to board when Judith goes pale and says, OMG its an omen! I asked her what she was talking about and she told me to look at the CMs name. He is called Angel!!! Okay now I am officially terrified. We all get on and pull down our safety harnesses. I cannot repeat here what I was saying as we climbed that hill. Ride didnt take long, it was good but I preferred Hulk.
From here we went round to Seuss Landings as Taylor and Ciaron wanted to show us The Cat in the Hat ride. I really like this ride, love the story. We had to wait 30 minutes before we got on. Ciaron went on with Judith and Darren and the rest of us went in the couch behind them. During the ride it stopped and I called to Judith to ask her why she broke the ride, this was to become a standing joke. We were stuck for 10 minutes but got to ride again as soon as we came off. Went on the Caroseussel next. Cant believe adults have to wear the seat belt on this. Myself, Taylor, Mel and Ciaron then went on One Fish Two Fish after a 30 minute wait. This queue just never seemed to move. When we came off we got some Churros. Laughed at Darren because he asked for Cheerio as in goodbye. Frightened Judith by pouring ice cold water down the back of her leg but it did help her to cool down. Time now for our Spiderman return time. Im so glad we had an express because that wait took ages. This ride was amazing, absolutely brilliant, Ciaron enjoyed it too. When we came off Ciaron bought some souveniers in the shop. Checked the wait time for Dr Doom and Judith was ecstatic to find it was 45 minutes. We went onto Storm Force Acceleration, Tricia, Mel and Taylor went together as they wanted to spin fast. The rest of us went in one as we didnt want to spin. After 20 seconds we looked sad so we span!!!
We had arranged for Mears to pick us up at 7.30pm so we had to think about leaving. The Browns were planning on going to Magic Kingdom tomorrow and we were going to e-night so we arranged to meet them at 7pm and promised not to be late. They were going to have a walk around IOA before leaving to see what they missed. Darren said I walk too fast, I pointed out to them that if I walked any slower then a tortoise would overtake me. Said our churros (LOL) and headed for the bus stop having a look in the shops on the way.
When we got back to our hotel we got the bus to the Magic Kingdom, the shop I was buying our special things for Wednesday was closed so I would need to get it tomorrow. Saw the fireworks and did a couple of rides and then found a spot outside the train station for the 11pm SpectroMagic. When Grumpy was passing I shouted to him to smile and he was looking around trying to see where it had come from, Happy knew because he pointed to me and then made laughing gestures. Went for bus after parade and returned to resort. Had a fantastic day today. It was good having company on the scary rides.
Set wake up call for the morning and I think I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
