It has been a long day! Our flight was supposed to leave from DCA at 6:59am. Not so much. The door didn't close properly(they think it was ice), seemed like it as fixed, but the powers that be decided to call in an expert to make sure and we were deboarded after an hour or two and told the guy "in the know" was coming down from BWI, about an hour away. We were also told before we left the plane there were no other planes to Orlando today, though there were some through Atlanta and they were pretty full. As soon as I got off the plane, I called the airline to find out procedure for rebooking, called the hotel to see what would happen if we came in a day late, called Ed (driver) to let him know the situation and stood in line to see what could be done. While standing in line, I called my friend and asked her to look up any other flights leaving DCA within the next few hours for Orlando so I would have some information when I got to the desk. Ended up booking other flights on Jet Blue leaving at 1:20pm and getting a refund from Airtran for half of my flight. I will be calling them tomorrow to see what can be done about the extra $300 I'm out because they ended up cancelling the flight. Either way, we landed in Orlando right at 4, found Ed, hit the store and came to RPR.
This hotel is beautiful and the staff are ridiculously helpful. We didn't get a waterview room on Club Level, but they did offer us a waterview room on another floor with the option of turning it down if the trees blocked the view. After taking a look at it, we decided to stick with whatever room they gave us on Club Level. It had been 12 hours since we had arrive at the airport, we were tired and just wanted food. The room is really nice, clean and the view, though of the highway, is high enough up that it actually shows a lot more and is kind of panoramic. Anyway, came to the Club Lounge to get some dinner, the oldest(C) went back to the room where he is slumbering soundly and the youngest(J) and I took the water taxi to Citywalk, where we bought our HP House lanyards, listened to some music and just enjoyed the lights and sounds. Walked back to the hotel, grabbed some sweets in the lounge and are now heading to the pool so J can enjoy the pool a bit before we call it a night. Tomorrow is a long day and I will make sure to take lots of pics! I hope everyone has a great night!
