Today we left Universal's Portofino and headed for our stay at the Wilderness Lodge. Arrived around 11 AM and room wasn't ready so we took boat over to Magic Kingdom for lunch. Ate at one of our favorites Tony's Restaurant. The pizzas are great, large enough to be shared by two. Next headed to some attractions - park was fairly crowded. Started with Swiss Family Treehouse, Tiki Room and Pirates of the Carribean. Next off to Country Bear Jamboree and were able to see 3 PM parade. Left Magic Kingdom before parade ended on Main Street. If you are exiting park during parade use stores to walk through, much quicker. Because we had already checked in just needed to call to find out our room number. We were on the fourth floor, Junior Suite overlooking beach, what a GREAT view! Bellhop quickly brought up our luggage. Layout of the room was wonderful, very roomy and like sinks outside of bathroom, unlike Portofino and refrigerator in room. Headed for our 5 PM dinner reservations at the Hoop - De - Doo and were seated at table in front of stage. We always enjoy this show, even if it's corny! DD 7, DD 14 and DS 16 all enjoyed the food and fun. FYI - they don't offer the kids macaroni and cheese but it's available for picky eaters if you request it. Our youngest daughter liked the chicken but nothing else so our waiter brought some over after I asked. Just wish they would change the dessert. Frozen strawberries over a shortcake. Back to Magic Kingdom where we went on Buzz, Carousel of Progress and People Mover. Finished the night off with a ride on It's a Small World. This was the only negative of day. Grad night is on Friday and the park is inundated with teenagers. A bunch of foul mouthed youngsters were on our boat and even though we asked them to refrain from that language they continued throughout ride. Back to Wilderness Lodge and while on boat the fireworks started at Magic Kingdom. What a beautiful sight!
