Day 1.…Nov. 9th

Took this day off from work to prepare for our vacation. Spent most of it on the DIS boards. :lmao: Printed out our boarding passes exactly 24 hours before departure….I’m not excited or anything. ;) Dropped off keys to house with instructions to DeWayne’s sister on feeding the cats.

Shelli and her family showed up around 4:00 PM. They are spending the night in our motor home. DeWayne is leaving work at lunch time so he will be home around 7:30 PM.

All of us were in bed by 9:00 PM.

Day 2...Nov. 10th (55 degrees in Seattle - 75 degrees in Anaheim)
Woke up at 3:00 AM. This is my normal wake up time for the work week so I didn’t even bother with the alarm. Shelli’s family were already up and had coffee cups in hand as they came through the door.

"Sure we got everything Mom?"

"Looks Good!" (thanks, son...now I can rest easy)

Locked all doors and windows, left plenty of food for cats, left some lights and the stereo on then sat back to wait for shuttle. (We forgot to leave the heat on…the house was freezing when we got back home. Poor cats….they survived, but thank God it didn‘t get below freezing while we were gone)

Shuttle Express showed up right at 4:00 AM. I recognized the driver’s face right away. After a brief introduction, we learned that he used to be a neighbor of ours and we had met at block party some years back.

No traffic on the freeway at this time of morning, so we arrived at SeaTac around 4:30 AM. Since we had already checked in and printed our boarding passes, all we had to do was check our baggage. Security was a quick process even with Shelli declaring her Insulin and needles.

Knowing we probably wouldn't eat until we got into the park later that day, we decided to have breakfast at the airport.

My group ate breakfast at Ivars at SeaTac. Shelli’s family had Burger King. Note: Clams and fries for breakfast are really good!

Now came the most boring part of our trip..waiting for departure.

"I thought we were going to DL, Grandma. Why are we just sittin' here?"

Finally...the time has come. It was dark in Seattle when we left, so we took this photo after we landed at SNA. Our flight to SNA departed on time. No major turbulence and we arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule. I didn’t even have time to finish “King Kong” that I had been watching on our DVD player. Note to self: Invest in some good headphones before next trip. Plane engine noise nearly drowned out volume on DVD player.

After getting our luggage at baggage claim, we crossed the road to Super Shuttle where we waited about 7 minutes for our van to arrive. It took us about 20 minutes to arrive at the BWPPI. I’m glad we didn’t drive our own cars this time because the roads around DL were completely changed since our 2001 visit. We would have been driving in circles for a while.

After a full year of planning & saving, I just can't tell you how wonderful it felt when we saw this...

Check in at the hotel was quick and we were surprised to find that both our rooms were ready for us. Shelli’s family were in room 304 & we were in 305. We were on the 3rd floor on the lobby side of the hotel…about as close to Harbor Blvd. as you could get.
