The sunrises have had some spectacular colors lately so I decided to snap a few from my 9th floor office window at about 6:30 this morning. I'm about 13 miles from downtown Dallas as a crow flies. This was using the D300 and 70-300.....tripod mounted. (Definitely some unavoidable window glare in a few:mad: )

Very nice work...What on Earth were you doing at work so early???I could not function if I had to be up that early everyday.

6:30am Monday through Friday is bad enough, but 6:30am on a Saturday???
:scared1:

Great shots, number 4 is my favorite. I would have guessed it was sunset not sunrise, just based on the fact that who would have ever thought there would be cars to do long exposures of that early in the morning on a weekend. :goodvibes

Very Nice.

Do you have any pictures of the sun as it continues to rise? I think it is great to see the way the picture changes.

Most photographers will tell you it is waiting for the right moment to get the killer shot. Many times that is right before and right after sunset! You have to be willing to be there to get it. 6:30 is not that early!

6:30 is not that early on any given day of the week to be awake, I am every day for work...but 6:30 being AT work already, let alone on a Saturday. Here in 34* New Jersey, on a Saturday morning that early the only place I want to be is bundled up in bed or maaaaaaaaaaybe on the couch with a warm cup of tea.:thumbsup2

Thanks. Well, I typically get to work around 6am. I've just always been an early bird. I like being in a quiet office as well. Plus, beating the traffic is well worth it. :thumbsup2

Thank you. This was Friday morning, not Saturday. No chance you'll ever find me in the office at any time during the weekend! And as far as cars on the freeway at that time......I don't think there's ever a time in the metroplex when there's not any. My office is about 5 minutes from DFW airport so that doesn't help either. ;)

Thanks, YesDear. I didn't stick around long enough to get the sun itself on this day as I had things to do before it made it's appearance. However, on other occasions, I have been known to spend a couple of hours getting a rising sun as well as a setting sun to get all the different effects. Lots of fun! :thumbsup2

So I guess if I say that I'm typically AT work for 430am that would really freak you out! LOL

Is this anywhere near the big Wyndham hotel? I stayed there way back in '02 and took the same skyline from my window.

Not really. The Wyndham Anatole which I believe you're referring to is much closer to downtown. Probably 10 miles closer than my office. And, I believe it's now the Hilton Anatole. Quite a nice place.

beautiful! And you were facing my house when you took those - from about 15-20 miles away - but hey. :confused3
