Dawa Bar....

anyone been? We never even knew it was there, and our thinking of stopping in this trip. Where is it in Africa? Is it worth a stop?

It's in the Animal Kingdom Resort--not in the park itself.
It's a nice lounge and if you are in the AKL it's worth a stop.
Believe the name of the lounge is now Victoria Falls--

I thought the Dawa Bar was in the park. We have stopped for a cocktail or two there and IIRC it is in Africa. Sometimes there is entertainment close by, which makes for a nice place to take a break.

the Dawa Bar is in the park. It is in Africa, right after you cross the bridge from Discovery Island, on the left hand side as you're heading towards Kilimanjaro Safaris, but before you get to Tusker House.

It's set back from the pathway a bit, and there's a large patio area with some seating.

Yes, it is in the park and worth the stop for the "oasis" alone(yummy drink, sorry I don't remember what's in it). If you time it right there is entertainment, a group of young men who jump through hoops, flip and jump rope, etc. My description doesn't do them justice, they are excellent performers.

Yes, it's in Animal Kingdom Park and it's a wonderful oasis. The drinks are good, the bartenders friendly and as stated earlier, you can sometimes catch entertainment.

Oh well--Uncleromulus a day late and a dollar short, as usual--
but wasn't Dawa the name of the bar in the AKL before it became Victoria Falls????

We went to Boma the 1st year that AKL was open, and the bar was Victoria Falls. We have been going to the Dawa Bar at DAK since before AKL opened, and it was always called Dawa. Hope that helps!

We often get our food from Tusker House, and carry it out to a table at Dawa, then order some beers, or something more exotic! We also try to grab the spot right at the kiosk in front of Dawa to watch the parade. DH and I will grab another beer while the parade goes by.

Will love this place! We also use it for a meeting place when we are at AK.
